Winning Trainer: Gerald Ryan & Sterling Alexiou (Sterling speaking)

"Brenton offset that barrier very quickly. He had to use him a bit early but I thought he got him across quite well and traveled well and he gave a good kick on the turn.

"We were really happy with his trial the other day but he's still doing a lot wrong and it is going to take him a while to put it all together.

"Even in the mounting yard he's doing a lot wrong today and he's got a bit of an attitude at times but hopefully he comes around the right way because he has got a fair bit of ability."

When they targeted this race: "He's run a couple of placings in town last preparation and he was a bit disappointing at Warwick Farm the other day but we always had the intention of going to this race if he didn't win there.

"Obviously the winkers have done the trick today and it sounds like the owners are going to have a good night tonight."

Winning Jockey: Brenton Avdulla

On the board early : "I only got here half-hour before the race."

On the run: "It worked out well. He began ok and I was positive with him. He was set for the race by Gerald and Sterling and it has worked out really well."

"He feels like he's only going at 80 per-cent. He rode the speed, clocked off and took off a long way out. I had to get a bit busy with him.

"As soon as Bel Air got to him he went again but I'm sure there's more in him."

Fast time: "We went along at a good speed and it was survival of the fittest. He's prepping well."
