Matthew Seyers has again opted to stay local with talented three-year-old Test The Law.

Test The Law was an acceptor at Moonee Valley with 59kg and Jamie Kah booked to ride, but Matthew Seyers said the option of staying in SA and running at Gawler from a good gate and utilising Jacob Opperman's 2kg claim was the better choice.

"I thought staying here from barrier one was the best option,'' Seyers said.

"I think he'll run the 1500m, but he needs to relax, and the good gate gives him that opportunity.

"If he'd drawn half a gate in Melbourne, I would have rolled the dice but drawing eight of eight wasn't ideal.

"I think he'll be strong late and I couldn't be happier with the horse,'' he said.

Seyers has Santastico set to debut in the opening race on the back of a nice trial win at Murray Bridge.

"That was a nice trial, he actually surprised me a little bit,'' Seyers said.

"He's a jump and run horse, the query will be how strong he is late, I would have preferred him at 1000m but the small field suits,'' he said.

Frankel Star rounds out his three Gawler runners coming off a soft 4.7 lengths win on his home track last time out and despite being the biggest price of his trio Seyers feels the horse will run another big race.

"He's the longest price of my three but I think he is one of our better chances,'' Seyers said.

"I think he's a better horse ridden outside the speed and not cluttered away.

"Anna (Jordsjo) knows the horse well, she rides him most mornings, so I think he can come across and make it a genuine tempo and take some beating,'' he said.
