Winning Trainer: Steve O'Dea & Matt Hoysted (Hoysted speaking)
On whether he was worried that he had to do some early work: "I was a little bit worried he didn't get things on his own terms, but he's just so tough. He's a happy horse and he's fit so I knew once he gave that really good kick he'd be able to sustain it to the line.
"He's just an old marvel, he loves his time down here and I couldn't be prouder of him."
"With the big weight and that bit of extra work, I could see Mark (Zahra) on Ayrton just kicking up and keeping him three-deep a little bit longer than we probably needed to be.
On the horse: "He's rising nine and in career-best form. Every time we raise the bar he keeps meeting it, so just so proud of him."
Would they accept an All-Star Mile wildcard if offered?: "Probably not. He just isn't as effective at the mile. That's his go, 1400.
"Every time we've tried him at the mile he just has never been as strong through the line, so when you've got a race like the Stradbroke at home we can try and aim up (we will).
"Where his rating sits now, that's sort the race he's need to be going into. We were first emergency last year, he'll definitely get a start this year and he'll give a very good sight."
Winning Jockey: Damian Lane
On the horse: "He's a beauty, they don't come much better. He leaves the barriers well, he races on speed, sometimes he can be a little eager to get on with things but gee he's racing so well.
"He can go a high cruising speed and then he can really sprint off it
"Matt and Steve have got these horses flying and it's a privilege to be riding for them."
On whether he was worried doing early work: "There was, but I also knew that he was a little bit fitter and better for that run off a freshen last time, so I was confident he could do a little bit of work and still be strong."
