Sunshine Moshe delivered at his third Tasmanian start for Longford trainer Andrew Roach in a 0-62 over 1400m in Launceston on Wednesday night.

Put into a perfect trailing position by Liam Riordan, Sunshine Moshe ($18 into $11) hit the front rounding the home turn and was too strong for Chosen Eagle ($4.8) who looked set to win after getting into the clear.

"His last start fourth to get home the way he did with the rail out so far, that was a real good run and put the writing on the wall.

"His work has been excellent ever since so it all pointed well for tonight," a delighted Roach told TasracingTV.

Treble for Trinder

Starnote put up one of the best performances on the night after an aggressive ride by Brendon Mccoull.

From the outside barrier Starnote ($2.45fav) sizzled across to race on the speed and when McCoull let her down she dashed clear to win by more than four lengths in the TasBreeders 1200m Maiden.

It completed an early double for McCoull and a race-to-race double for trainer Adam Trinder.

"We've been drawing wide and getting back and out of the equation early so I said to Brendon this evening, give her a positive ride and ask the question which he did, he had full faith and trust in her and she was strong to the line," the winning trainer said.

Trinder later scored with Golden Prophet who looks to have plenty of potential with two wins from his first three starts.

Earlier Trinder provided the quinella in the Thank You Jill Smith BM62 (1600m) after a masterful front running ride by Liam Riordan on Incriminate.

Riordan had no hesitation in taking Incriminate ($7.5 out to $14) straight to the front and the 5YO bounded clear with a winning break around the home turn. Stablemate Imagine Howe ($3fav) tried hard but couldn't sprint lumping 62kg and finished 1 -1/2 lengths away.

Cheeky help from above

It seemed appropriate that a horse by Wordsmith would win a race named in honour of the man who brought the stallion to Tasmania.

Four-year-oldCheeky Word broke her maiden status in the Vale Paul Geard Maiden (1400m).

Wordsmith has been hugely successful in Tasmania and has sired many of the successful 'Geegee' horses. Geard, who owned Wordsmith and the Geegee progeny died last Friday aged 79.

After an emotional few days trainer Stuart Gandy landed a 'Geegee' quinella with Gee Gee Queen Bee beating her brother Gee Gee Als Prince in the first leg of the quaddie.

Both horses are by Wordsmith x Annies Gee Gee, and bred by Paul and Elizabeth Geard.

"It has been a really tough week, and everyone is thinking of the family and it's just really sad," Gandy said after the race.

Gee Gee Queen Bee has now won 11 races and more than $180,000 in prize money.

Trinder with his treble took training honours while Liam Riordan rode three winners from just five rides.
