Bonuses aplenty on offer at Oakbank

Talented sprinter Taunting is among the headline nominations for Saturday’s $127,250 Hills Railway Stakes (1100m) at Oakbank.

The Michael Hickmott-trained galloper will have his second run back from a spell in the feature which includes Scissor Step, second-up for the Tony and Calvin McEvoy stable.

The Hills Railway Stakes winner can chase a $25,000 bonus if they can run a place in either the Group 1 Goodwood or Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville in May.

The Railway is one of a host of bonuses on offer on Easter Saturday.

The $55,000 Queen Of The Hills Handicap (1400m) offers a $20,000 bonus if the winner can then go on and claim the Group 2 Queen Of The South over 1600m at Morphettville in May.

Hickmott is again a key player with Lacrima, Unlaced and recent stable acquisition Alpine Flyer among nominations.

Last Friday's Mount Gambier Cup winner Clever Man will back up in the $107,250 Onkaparinga Cup (2150m) with the race carrying an additional $10,000 bonus if the winner can then claim the Listed Port Adelaide Cup over 2500m at Morphettville during the Adelaide Racing Carnival, a bonus that will be doubled if the winning horse is a five-year-old or younger.

Promising three-year-old Validated will try and maintain his winning sequence in the $107,250 Shillabeer Plate which will carry an additional $10,000 incentive if the winner can go on and claim the Listed Nitschke Stakes, also over 1400m, at Morphettville in May.

And a host of quality performers including Regalo Di Gaetano and Morvada tackle The Vintage over 1400m which has a $10,000 bonus attached if the winner can go on and claim the Listed City of Adelaide over the same distance in May.
