The Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young stable could be tempted to head to a stakes race after Chill The Krug broke through for her maiden win at Sandown

The Listed Anzac Day Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on April 25 will be considered for Chill The Krug after her win in the Tile Importer Handicap (1400m) on Monday.

Chill The Krug was having her fourth start on Monday and relished the distance rise to land her first win.

Ridden by Craig Newitt, Chill The Krug ($9) raced to a soft three-quarter length win from the $3.80 favourite Another Nephew with debutant Alectrona ($4.20) a further 1-¼ lengths away third.

Young said the rise in trip suited Chill The Krug who two starts ago contested the filly's division of the Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Sandown in February, before finishing third over 1200m at Pakenham on March 23.

"At Pakenham last start the jockey got off and said she might want a little bit further and we rode her behind the speed today which also helped," Young said.

"For a while there, halfway up the straight, I didn't think she was going to get out, but he got her to the outside and she showed that turn of foot that she usually uses at the start of her races, so she did it at the right end today.

"There is the Anzac Stakes at Flemington on Anzac Day, it's a Listed race, so we'll see how she pulls up and whether we head to that path, if not she may head to the paddock.

"We'll let her tell us in the next few days which way we go."

Newitt said Chill The Krug will handle a trip further than 1400m and had shown a liking for soft ground with her victory.

"We rode her a little bit quieter than we did at Pakenham last time and she just toed me everywhere I wanted to go," Newitt said.

"The way she relaxed today, she'll get a mile, no doubts, and getting through the wet ground is the bonus part about it.

"In the next few months, we should have a lot of fun with her."
