Simon Zahra has elected to head to The Showdown with last start winner Shesallshenanigans.
Trainer Simon Zahra has been guided by the recommendation of jockey Linda Meech to start Shesallshenanigans at Sandown.
Zahra had the option of taking the filly to Adelaide for a Stakes race or stay at home and run for a big prize in a restricted race on Saturday.
The Showdown (1200m) and its first prize of $550,000 won out over the Listed Dequetteville Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville which carries total prize money of just over a tenth of the Sandown race.
Zahra said Meech had allayed any fears of Shesallshenanigans running out 1200m after her victory in the VOBIS Gold Rush (1000m) at Bendigo on April 1.
"She's going well but the 1200 (metres) is our query, but Linda Meech thought the other day it wouldn't be an issue," Zahra said.
"I also entered her for the Stakes race in Adelaide and I asked Linda again about the 1200 metres and she said it wouldn't be a problem.
"Linda said she could have gone slower had she wanted to, but she found that happy medium.
"So, that's our query, but she's improved again.
"It's a $1 million race, she's got the race smarts, she's fit, and this will probably be her peak run.
"It's like a Magic Millions race and it carries $550,000 to the winner. It's nothing to be sneezed at."
Zahra said if Meech had given any indication Shesallshenanigans would not run 1200m then he would not have hesitated heading across the border to run in Adelaide.
Shesallshenanigans gained black type when third in the Listed Cinderella Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville last month.
"If Linda had said she's not going to get beyond 1000 metres, you'd go to Adelaide, get a Stakes win and you're worth $600,000 or $700,000," Zahra said.
"She's a sister to Shelby Cobra, who was a Stakes winner and she's already Stakes placed, so the family is already on the move."
