The Hall of Fame trainer and son-in-law have an outstanding record in the 1100m feature, Macdonald winning his first in 2002 when Jason Holder scored aboard Regal Kiss before Flying Object gave him a second in 2007 with Clare Lindop in the saddle.

They combined in in 2010 with Augusta Proud before Daytona Grey won the 2015 feature, Lindop in the saddle on both occasions.

Jason Holder takes the ride on Another Award from barrier five and is marked a $8.50 chance with tab.com.au while Lachlan Neindorf partners Manhatten Times who is a $21 chance at his return to racing.

Three Group 1 winners have won the feature in the past six years which has proven a strong pointer to the upcoming sprint features in Adelaide – the Sangster Stakes and Goodwood.

Viddora claimed the 2017 edition before running second in the Sangster Stakes, Gytrash won the race in 2020 before running second in the Group 1 Goodwood while Bella Vella completed a brilliant comeback to racing to win last year's Irwin.
