Jockey Jordan Turner is excited by Rear Admiral’s return and can’t wait to ride the exciting three-year-old at Ascot’s final meeting of the season on Saturday.
Jordan Turner reunites with Real Admiral and his excitement levels are plausible following her recent barrier trial and the exciting form she exposed last year.
Prepared by in form co-trainers, Sean and Jake Casey, Turner sat aboard the Astern filly in her three wins from as many races last year.
Rear Admiral's unbeaten campaign included a dominant victory on debut in November when she kicked clear in the straight to win by four lengths.
Rear Admiral makes her return in the Amelia Park Handicap (1000m) and she carries the heavy support support of punters as the raging $1.65 TABtouch favourite.
Turner says he is looking forward to continuing his successful relationship with Rear Admiral and believes she will be hard to beat.
"She trialled really well and I'm happy with her at the moment," Turner told Tabradio.
"She's ticking all the right boxes and I'm looking forward to riding her tomorrow (Saturday).
"She's doing everything right at home and I couldn't be any more happier with her.
"She just needs a bit of luck and if she gets things her way she is going to be very hard to beat."
Rear Admiral meets a field of six rivals on her return and has drawn ideally in barrier one.
"Obviously I will be positive on her," Turner said.
"I haven't spoken to Sean and Jake about the race, but I'll be positive and go from there.
"She's my stand out ride and hopefully can get the money for me."
Turner kicks off the Ascot meeting on Soaring Solo in the Belmont City Of Opportunity Plate (1000m) and gives her an each way chance.
Beaten in four starts this preparation, the Safeguard filly is searching for her first win since the Crystal Slipper Stakes (1000m) last November.
"After the Crystal Slipper she was stepping up to better grade," Turner said.
"She's probably just below those sort of races.
"I think tomorrow (Saturday) it's the weakest race she's been in for a while.
"There are a couple of ones you have to respect in the race, but she's drawn well.
"She hasn't drawn a gate for a while, so if she can get a soft enough run, she can run a good race."
Soaring Solo is a $19 chance. Sass Machine is the $2.65 favourite.
