Apprentice Academy Wrap: May 2023

Rochelle Milnes' steady rise continued as the most successful Racing SA Apprentice Academy rider for the month of May.

Milnes rode five winners as the Adelaide Autumn Racing Carnival took centre stage, her highlight winning the 2023 Hawker Cup on May 27 aboard Jamcra for Garret Lynch.

Milnes had provincial success aboard Saville for Greg Lesnikowski and Ryan Hannemann while also getting the late call up winning aboard Declared for Goolwa horseman David Jolly at Murray Bridge early in the month.

Nichola Yuen boasted the best strike-rate at 14 per cent for the month, her highlight coming with a Port Augusta double on May 19.

Yuen won with the Darren Magro and Aimee Bush-trained I'm Kenny early in the day before the Andrew Beswick-trained Bromelia capped her successful day in the state's north.

Apprentice riders rode four of the seven winners at Port Augusta on May 7 with Jade Doyle, Rochelle Milnes, Nichola Yuen and Alana Livesey all successful.

Ben Price and Sheriden Tomlinson both riding winning on Group 1 Sangster Day early in May.
