The two most recent winners of the Black Caviar Lightning will meet up in the covering shed this spring after Coolmore this week brokered a deal to purchase Coolangatta.

The racing and breeding giant on Wednesday announced it had secured this year's Group 1 Lightning winner, who now has an appointment with Home Affairs.

"Coolmore are delighted to have secured Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner and dual Group 1-winning three-year-old sprinter Coolangatta from Ozzie Kheir and his partners," Coolmore tweeted.

"She will visit fellow Group 1 Lightning Stakes winner Home Affairs this season."

Coolangatta, a daughter of Written Tycoon, will become the first Lightning winner since Miss Andretti to be served by another winner of Australia's premier 1000m race.

The 2007 Lightning winner visited 2010 winner Nicconi in 2013 and produced a colt who raced as Mr Hamilton.

Other Lightning winners to be served by Lightning winners includes Isca, who was twice served by Fastnet Rock but failed to get in-foal, and Countess Marizza, Desirable and Dual Choice, who were all served by Century.

This year's Lightning, in which Coolangatta defeated I Wish I Win and Bella Nipotina, was one of two 1000m Group 1 wins for the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained three-year-old, who also won last year's Moir Stakes.

Coolangatta also won the $2.5m Magic Millions 2YO Classic, one of five wins in a nine-start career that ended with an 11th placing in the Group 1 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

"Her journey from the paddock to dual Group 1 winner is one that we're so proud of," Maher said in a statement.

"She took her owners, and our team, on a ride that went around the world and delivered moments that we will cherish forever.

"She couldn't be going to a better home than Coolmore Australia and we can't wait to meet her babies soon."

Coolangatta will be reunited with her mother at Coolmore after Tom Magnier earlier this year paid $3 million for Piping Hot, in-foal to I Am Invincible.
