Grantham takes home Racing Rewards bonuses

The upset win by Dragonface at Morphettville in July was a momentous occasion for his Strathalbyn trainer Lewis Grantham the win, his first training success at metropolitan level and his second win from only a handful of runners.

The victory also banking Dragonface's connections a $26,800 Racing Rewards SA bonus in the process and completing a big month to wind up the 2022-23 racing season after the pair broke their respective maidens winning at Port Augusta three weeks earlier.

Dragonface was sent out a $51 chance and was one of three long priced winners for veteran Strathalbyn jockey Justin Potter, who also scored aboard $31 chance Jack The Lad and $20 elect Bonnie Gangster for fellow Strathalbyn horseman Grant Kluske.

There was even more financial reward for Lewis Grantham who also picked up a $7,600 bonus as the Highest Earning Nominator for the month of July, sharing the honour with Balcrest Trust.

Promising Kylie Schulz-trained three-year-old Surprise Coming was another to pick up a $26,800 bonus with his Morphettville win on the same day when he scored a dominant 3.2 length victory while Will Clarken and Niki O'Shea were the Highest Earning Trainer(s) for the month collecting $2,060 in Racing Rewards bonuses.

Sir Prancealot again the Leading Sire for the month with $44,550 in Racing Rewards.
