Moree, located in northern NSW, is known for its artesian hot mineral baths as well as the source of 95% of Australia’s pecan nuts.
The town also puts on some outstanding country racing and activities, especially next weekend (September 2 and 3).
"For Moree Race Club, it our major fundraising weekend for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service, in conjunction with the running of Moree Cup Day," said MRC's secretary/manager, Michelle Gobbert.
"After the last two Moree Cups were washed out the day prior, our Club is looking forward to getting this raceday across the line.
"On the Saturday evening a Charity Dinner and Auction will be held at the racecourse with special guest former Australian Test cricketer Michael Kasprowicz.
"There will be some impressive auction items up for grabs and a swag of raffle prizes. Last year the dinner raised just shy of $50,000 for the service – a record tally for the dinner that is in its eighth year.
"And the raceday boasts the $55,000 Moree Cup and the running of the first Country Super Maiden race worth $50,000 for the lucky winner.
"Announced in late July by Racing NSW, the aim of these races is to return money that was invested in a horse prior to its first win."
Moree Race Club's president, Robbie Mather is ecstatic with that news: "After two years without our Cup meeting, we can't wait for the excitement to build for this year's Cup and especially as I've had a few maiden horses over the years.
"From the Fashions on the Field to a Calcutta on the Moree Cup this will be a great couple of days for everyone."
Racegoers can experience the atmosphere of the day in the Chopper Club marquee situated on course which can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service New England & North-West event co-ordinator, Jeff Galbraith, said: "We were blown away last year with the fantastic result and we hope everyone comes out and supports us again this year."

Meanwhile, Murrumbidgee Turf Club races at Wagga on Thursday with the feature the $35,000 Union Club Hotel Ian Reid Sprint (1200m).
The Club received 26 nominations for the event including half a dozen last start winners: The Prodigal Son (won at Flemington), Brenlyn's Trooper (Wagga), Blitzar (Forbes), Mathrin (Wagga), Mescaminto (Wodonga) and Swagger (Wagga).
