Winning Trainer: John Leek Jnr
How the race unfolded: "I was a bit worried, we wanted her to come out good but get a position but it was up to 2000 metres from the 1800 and I was watching the times as the race was being run and they were running 12's, 12 and a halves and thought 'God she's going to steal this race' because they're not really going that fast."
Winning for Bob Peters: ""Tatum rode her to instructions perfectly and pretty exciting win to be quite honest. An exciting win for everybody to be honest. For Bob Peters (owner) to trust me with these beautiful horses, we've been a bit stiff, we lost two on the weight situation which was disappointing, it was a Saturday race we lost with this girl but we've gained one today."
On the preparation: "I'll speak to Bob about it all, we space her runs about two weeks apart. She actually puts in that much, it doesn't look it but she depletes a bit after a run, it takes her about a week to get back on board again. We're very careful what we do with her, we'll just tick her over, give her a nice bit of work at home, she really hardly leaves the farm, she does a bit of hill work and she's a beautiful horse."
"I don't get too far ahead of myself… she's a beautiful horse, she's got a lot of potential as a broodmare, her mum (Fuchsia Bandana) passed away a while ago so she's a replacement for the stud so it'd be nice to get a stakes race with her… she just keeps improving."
Winning Jockey: Tatum Bull
Controlling the race: "She jumped too good for me out of the gates and I was cursing myself because I didn't know what to do from there, I had to go to plan B and look, she was too good from there. I was absolutely bolting at the top of the straight."
"I was waiting for them to come, I heard Olly having a bit of a roar so I was waiting for him to chase me down but thank God he didn't."
Riding for Leek Jnr & Peters: "I couldn't be more thankful to them, John's been great to me, I've only had two rides for him for a second and a win now so he's a funny man, he's rung me a few times this week talking to me about the horses but look, he knows what he's doing, he's a good horseman, I'm just thankful I can be on board today."
"Billy (Wiremu) Pinn I think he was meant to be riding her but unfortunately he got suspended but I'm sure he'd be happy to see me win on it!"
