Winning Trainer: James Cummings

On the horse: "He's a crack colt. He was our best two-year-old last season and it's great for the stable he's now come back and he's two out of two,"

"He's out of a Street Cry mare and he's a good racehorse and that can take him a long way."

On the run and getting clear late: "He's got up and claimed The Run To The Rose a fortnight out from the Golden Rose and what a great energy-saving run that he had but he really had to knuckle down and sprint quick when the gap (came) - I don't even think it was a gap, it might have been half a gap. He's been able to get up and beat a very promising young horse who was great in the San Domenico, Moravia.

"He really had to knuckle down, he had no time at all to float around and think about anything. I like the way the horse switched off and all of a sudden there were, three, four horses ahead of him in the run and he wasn't getting the commentary about the cheap lead or the map favours that he might have gotten after the draws came out during the week after acceptances."

"He just zapped along like a very good colt and he's setting himself up very well for the early part of the spring."

On what's next: "I think the Golden Rose looks very nice for the horse. He will have to stretch to seven (furlongs) but two runs under the belt, he can certainly do that."

"We should have our options open for all races. Perhaps it was the run of a horse who shouldn't have won today and yet he managed to find a way to do it and that's the mark of an exceptional horse."

"It's outstanding for Cylinder. He was big first-up and now he's had another good lung burner there so he should be ready to go in a fortnight's time."

Winning Jockey: Nash Rawiller

On the run and getting the split late: "The key is to basically not put them into a position they can't get out of. I tried to keep my options as open as I could from the most awkward position we were in. Thankfully we just conserved and conserved and conserved and when that gap eventually come he was explosive and you're just praying to god that they get you out of trouble in those situations. I didn't have a lot of options, he was where he was. From where he was I just had to make sure he travelled right."

"Riding these good ones, as long as you don't make a mistake you've still got something up your sleeve."

On the riding instructions: "The stable (James Cummings) never really puts you under too much pressure to be anywhere, they like to see their horses in their comfort zone. Although when I went out onto the track the plan was to lead, from the time I hit the ground I had to wave the white flag basically and say 'well if we can't win it there we'll try and win it later."

Beaten Jockeys:

Zac Lloyd (Militarize): "Very good. He is on track. Perfect first up."

Chad Schofield (Libertad): "He didn't get beaten far. Ready for seven furlongs."

Josh Parr (Don Corleone): "His effort was nice. He chimed in with a good turn of foot. Just ran out of gas the last bit."

Dylan Gibbons (Chrysaor): "Very good. Race just wasn't run to suit."

Brett Prebble (Butch Cassidy): "Super. He showed last start it wasn't a fluke. He's covered himself creditably again today."

Tyler Schiller (Moravia): "I think he put his hand up to say he's a quality colt today. Fingers crossed for a draw in the big one."

Kerrin McEvoy (General Salute): "Just lost his momentum a little bit when he started to hang out. In the last 100 yards he straightened up and went well. I think a little further suits maybe even some headgear."

Jason Collett (Nadal): "Great run. Start was probably costly. Good to see him match it today."
