Winning Trainer: Mathew Ellerton
Maintenance of the mare: "She's pretty straight forward nowadys. She was a filly that was a bit difficult but she has grown into herself now and is a lot more mature mare. The old Viviane, it would have been a very messy map for her and would have overdone it, but she was able to pace herself well today and have a chance to be strong late."
Gate one an advantage?: "We just had to hold the spot and see what was happening outside him. We were grimacing a little, race ten, barrier one, but the track has held up really well and thank goodness she was able to get the job done again."
Next: "She'll probably go to the Alinghi Stakes. It's back to mares, it's 1100 (metres) here, so that would be the logical race for her to chase 'Black Type' in."
Winning Jockey: Craig Williams
Doing it on the fly.: "Full credit has to go to Mat Ellerton and his team. It's very hard to win five races in a row, especially in the metropolitan area. Today I was quite lucky.
"Damian Lane told me that he had one for me today as he was in Sydney, but he wouldn't have been able to make the weight anyway, he would have needed a hacksaw. Where I was lucky, he gave me a rundown about the horse and her mannerisms. I did ride her a fair while ago, and I don't want to remember the result, she was a short-priced favourite and she ran last. Damian assured me in his rundown to trust her and is a completely different horse now and the kick she gave today I was very confident after the run she had that she would be hard to run down."
