Winning Trainer: Matthew Dale

On inheriting the horse: "Geoff (Duryea - previous trainer) and the team, what they've done with this horse before getting him to me, I'm in awe. They told me every little thing I needed to know so that I could be well prepped and have him as good as I could here today. It's been a little bit stressful, the last few weeks, but wow what a win."

Geoff done a remarkable job with this horse his whole career. I'm came up to Geoff this time last year and congratulated him on how well he presented the horse. He handed me the keys 14 weeks ago, we had a few chats about how to prepare him and what he needs and we nailed it."

On the training performance: "It's a great team effort, the horse has lived out at my farm for the last three weeks. We built a swimming pool just for him. I was always going to build one but once I got him I said 'we better hurry this up' because I know the horse has had concussion plates on and we were going to need that to have him right on the day, and have him right we did."

Winning Jockey: Tyler Schiller

On the training performances: "Can't thank the owners and obviously Matt (Dale) enough. Geoff (Duryea - previous trainer) has done a great job to give Matt all the knowledge about the horse, I know he's not easy but gee he's done a terrific job to get him here in that order and to beat them like that he's a cracker."

On the horse: "I know he's always shown it. He went on from the Cossie last year and went close in Group 1's without being too far off them. He's always got the ability and tries his guts out."

On winning back to back Kosciuszkos: "It was great last year to do it for Geoff but they've passed the baton onto Matt Dale and he's done a terrific job. I can't say he's improved the horse but he's got him going as good as he can.Gee he's a terrific animal."

"He got control of the race very easy this year. I thought he quickened well from the top of the straight and then he just kept building, he felt like he never stopped. Last year he felt like he was a little bit reluctant to go and there were a few chasing but not this year he put them away very easy."

Beaten Jockeys:

Tommy Berry (Mnementh): "Beautiful run behind the winner. Just too firm a track for him."

James Orman (Far Too Easy): "He's run enormous. I got the back of Derry Grove but I feel the track might have been a bit firm for him. He boxed on well to run third."

Aaron Bullock (Akasawa): "A bit of an awkward draw. Began better than anticipated. The blinkers seems to do that with this horse. Gets him out and rocking. We went 200m and there was a big bunch to the inside. I couldn't be dragging him back out of the race. Elected to stride forward and he acquitted himself well. In for a good prep going to the Big Dance."

Hugh Bowman (Cavalier Charles): "I was delighted with his performance. I just think he needs a track favouring swoopers."

Jason Collett (I've Bean Tryin'): "Worked home really well. The gate made it difficult."

James McDonald (Opal Ridge): "She was brave in defeat. Hard to reel in the leader."

Nick Heywood (Mogo Magic): "He was a bit slow away today. He got smashed from the outside and the inside. Did a good job to do what he did but a bit too soon for him."

Craig Williams (Bianco Vilano): "Due to this horse's disappointing performance and not being competitive there, there clearly will be something to come out of that there. Clearly not his usual self. Hopefully gets through it OK."

Rachel King (Our Last Cash): "Got cleaned up at the start. Massive run and deserves one of these."

Sam Clipperton (Sizzle Minizzle): "He has developed into a horse now wants a mile simple as that. They were a bit sharp."

Nash Rawiller (Derry Grove): "Jumped and charged the whole race."

Dylan Gibbons (Broken Hill): "Copped a bit of buffering early. Hoping there is an issue because it was too bad to be true."

Kathy O'Hara (Kimberley Secrets): "Very gallant effort. She chased the leader a long way and felt the pinch the last 100m. Still solid."
