He put the writing on the wall when leading all the way in a recent trial and the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-prepared two-year-old Spywire ($2.60F) has replicated that effort with a dominant display on debut at Rosehill Gardens

The son of Trapeze Artist jumped straight to the front from barrier four to lead them up easily and never looked like being headed beating Canara ($5) by two and a quarter lengths on the line. The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained Everybody Rise ($4.20) was a widening four lengths back in third place.

Stable representative Johann Gerard-Dubord explained that the leading all the way tactics weren't necessarily the riding instructions.

"He did everything right, jumped straight to the front. It wasn't really the plan to lead but he just landed there, kicked away and was too good for them," Gerard-Dubord said.

"He learned plenty from his trial, very professional.

"It's great to get a win first start, obviously spent a lot of money on him. Lovely horse, will improve a lot on top of that."

Being a Magic Millions graduate, the $520,000 yearling purchase may be headed up to the Gold Coast come January.

"That's always something that's on the card, obviously with this kind of horse it's the right time of year for it. Definitely give it consideration," Gerard-Dubord said.

Jockey Tyler Schiller was full of praise for his juvenile mount and believes there may be more in store with race experience now under the belt.

"He's a very nice colt. We weren't planning to lead but he jumped very sharp and a bit of pressure next to him just forced him along," Schiller said.

"He raced a little bit keenly, a little bit greenly. But once he got into the straight he really got through his gears nice and he was very strong through the line.

"I think when he straightens up and gets all his greenness together he could be right up there. He's a lovely colt going forward and plenty of scope and upside."
