The speedy galloper gave the Searle/Callanan stable their first ever Melbourne winner when he scored at Moonee Valley over the 955m on November 17, he'll now be chasing his first win on the Parks track.

"That was magnificent,'' Gary Searle said of their Melbourne success.

"We've been close a few times, we haven't had a huge number of interstate runners, we've always been around the mark but that was our first one over the border,'' he said.

It was a rewarding win for the stable and his owners, the horse having overcome a serious injury early in his career to have now won seven of his 25 starts.

"He bowed a tendon early on as a three-year-old and they said he probably would never race again,'' Searle said.

"He's done a good job, even though he's eight, he's pretty lightly raced,'' he said.

Secret War  was scratched from the Riziz Final on TAB Finals Day last weekend after drawing a wide gate coupled with the fact Adelaide received decent rain on the Thursday leading in.

"There were a few factors, the barrier and the rain,'' Searle said.

"There was also a bit of speed drawn underneath him and I thought come the last race the track would have been chopped up a bit given the rain that was about.

"He just doesn't go in the wet, if they put the sprinklers on here, he would struggle to run evens,'' he said.

And in another rarity, the Gawler stable will be without a runner on their home track there on Wednesday.

"There wouldn't be too many times we haven't had a runner here,'' Searle said.

"It's just how it's planned out, the program didn't really suit the team,'' he said.
