Coolmore Stud Stakes runner-up I Am Unstoppable will race in new colours in the Black Caviar Lightning after being bought by one of Australia's leading stud farms.

Widden Stud has struck a deal that will see it take control of the Lloyd Kennewell and Lucy Yeomans-trained son of I Am Invincible and stand him at one of its farms once his racing days are over.

The original owners, who bought in after Kennewell purchased I Am Unstoppable for just $65,000 at Magic Millions, will retain an interest for the remainder of his three-year-old season after which Widden and their partners will own outright.

"He will remain with Lloyd Kennewell and Lucy Yeomans, as they've done a terrific job with him to date and our initial target races will be the Group 1 VRC Lightning Stakes and Group 1 VRC Newmarket Handicap early in the new year," Widden Stud's Antony Thompson said.

"He finished his spring in top form and has gone to the paddock a sound and happy horse, so we anticipate he can be a real force in the sprinting ranks next year."

"He is an outstanding physical specimen; a real Bull with serious strength, a quality head and great masculinity.

"Plus, he's beautifully-balanced and is everything you expect when you think of an exceptional I Am Invincible."

Widden will offer 20 shares of the 40-share syndicate to clients with a decision on whether the son of the back-to-back reigning Australian Champion Stallion stands in the Hunter Valley or at Widden's Victorian base to be made at the end of his racing career.

The Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) was I Am Unstoppable's sixth start with the colt yet to miss a place.

He also finished second at his previous two starts – in the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1100m) and Listed Poseidon Stakes (1100m) – having finished third in the Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) won by Cylinder at his first start as a three-year-old.

His only two starts as a two-year-old produced wins, the second of which came in the Listed Redoute's Choice Stakes (1200m) at Sandown.

I Am Unstoppable's likely first start for the new ownership group will be in the $1m Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington on February 17 with the $1.5m Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) run three weeks later.
