Refreshed from a holiday in Japan, Warwick Farm trainer Joseph Pride will head to his home track on Wednesday where he’ll attempt to continue a winning roll for the stable.
A lucrative spring carnival netted victory in The TAB Everest with Think About It for Joseph Pride, who also trained the third-placed Private Eye in that event.
He backed that up with success in The Hunter at Newcastle with Coal Crusher, and in his Japanese absence, Pride had Dragonstone and Stockman win feature races at Rosehill last weekend.
Pride will rely on two handy performers on Wednesday when Global Empire ($9 into $6 on TAB) resumes from a spell in the James Squire Handicap (1000m) and Testator Silens ($13 to $10) also resumes and has his first run for the stable in the Buy An Arrowfield Graduate Handicap (1200m).
Adam Hyeronimus will be in the saddle on Global Empire, while Reece Jones takes the ride on Testator Silens .
"Global Empire has only had seven starts but he's performed well in his career so far," said Pride.
"He was knocking on the door for a maiden win last campaign and managed to score in good style at Wyong before heading for a break.
"Adam [Hyeronimus ] was on him in the Wyong win and he's on him again which is a plus.
"He rode him in his first trial back this time in and he got a good feel for him. It's a handy race he's coming back in but I'd expect him to run well."
Testator Silens has had two trials in preparation for his first race start for Pride.
Pride had the galloper in his care for a trial in April 2020 before he eventually debuted for trainer Luke Clarke , for who he won five races.
"Luke did a great job with him," said Pride. "He got him into two Country Championships at Randwick and he also ran in The Kosciuszko.
"He's a good horse on his day and he goes well fresh so all things are pointing to a forward showing on Wednesday."
Randwick trainer John Thompson will line up his talented galloper Crafty Eagle ($3.90 to $3.10 favourite), which resumes against Testator Silens.
Thompson also has two good chances in the opening event of the day, the Earthlight First Yearlings Handicap (2400m) in the shape of Auspicious Cloud ($3 to $2.90 fav) and Deniliquin ($23 to $17).
