Mornington trainer Shane Nichols credits the addition of blinkers for the continued winning streak of Our Cracklin Rosie

The three-year-old daughter of Grunt will chase a fourth straight win when she lines up in the Summer Membership On Sale Now Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

Our Cracklin Rosie has worn the head gear in her past three starts resulting in wins at Mornington and twice at Moonee Valley.

Prior to those victories, Our Cracklin Rosie ran consecutive placings at Echuca and Mornington.

"I had always fancied her a bit," Nichols said.

"She worked up really well early on, but the blinkers going on have been the change for her.

"She was going to win one day, she hit the front, but then waited, so we put the blinkers on her.

"That's been the difference."

Nichols said he was surprised Our Cracklin Rosie had been able to continue her winning streak, especially racing every second week while remaining at the 1000m trip.

"She keeps stepping up and seems really well in herself," Nichols said.

"She's getting tested now by having a bit of weight, but I think she'll run a race and if she gets through this then we'll go to Geelong (on January 6).

"There's an 1100-metre open three-year-old there and after that she'd have to have a freshen up as she'd almost have raced herself into Stakes company by then."

The three victories on the trot have resulted in Our Cracklin Rosie paying the price with a rise in weight.

Will Price rode the filly at her most recent victory and has the ride again, pulling 1.5kg off Our Cracklin' Rosie's 60kg impost.

Our Cracklin Rosie is one of four rides for Price who requires one more city win to achieve the milestone of outriding his metropolitan claim with Saturday's meeting his last as apprentice.
