BEST BETS HARD TO CROSS (Race 1) DUAL FUEL (Race 8) EACH-WAY JUST LIKE LISA (Race 3)

Picture: Steve Hart

RACE 1 - 1:02PM Dominant Handicap (2250 METRES)

Hard To Cross is a Victorian stayer who has been placed at his past couple the latest behind Star Vega at Sandown. That's solid form for this, he gets Todd Pannell from a good barrier and is the horse to beat. Dixie Whistler doesn't run many bad races, draws a good gate and looks the danger. Yuri Royale has been around the mark since getting up in trip and must be respected again. Stablemate Pointless Praise has been racing well but draws out, Zoffala gets back to a more suitable trip.

SELECTIONS: HARD TO CROSS, Dixie Whistler, Yuri Royale, Pointless Praise PLAY: Keen on HARD TO CROSS.

RACE 2 - 1:37PM TAB Adelaide Cup Day - Monday March 11th Handicap (1250 METRES)

She's Greysful was impressive covering ground to score at Gawler last time out. She draws a sticky gate but does looks the horse to beat again here. In The Darkness is the danger chasing three straight wins here, she maps well from the good barrier but this does look a slight rise in class. Toast The Deel is another who draws awkwardly but was a good winner two starts back and should be fighting out the finish with some luck, she gets some nice weight relief. Stablemate Hayai Mesu is a former Victorian who had some market support late at her local debut at Oakbank, she draws a nice gate. Our Heidi had market support last time behind Rockstar Meggsy. Stella Notation won well first-up from a spell at Oakbank and has been specked early from a good gate. Hope At Hand has been placed at four of five runs here and could be the improver.

SELECTIONS: 3 SHE'S GREYSFUL, 6 In The Darkness, 4 Toast The Deel, 8 Hayai Mesu PLAY: Backing SHE'S GREYSFUL.

RACE 3 - 2:12PM PFD Food Services Handicap (1550 METRES)

Just Like Lisa was a drifter in betting but travelled strongly and won with something in hand on the outer track over a mile last week. She's back slightly in trip but is sure to run well again. Billie Bronx put things together last time when she bolted in by 4.6 lengths at Gawler. This does looks slightly harder but she's a mare with upside. Pearl Adios has been placed his past two behind Mighty Sapphire and San Lucido, he draws a middle gate and looks a big threat. France's Boy can give a sight up on speed from a good barrier. Mug's Game is another who will be on speed and looks ready to fire.

SELECTIONS: 3 JUST LIKE LISA, 6 Billie Bronx, 5 Pearl Adios, 1France's Boy PLAY: Again backing JUST LIKE LISA each-way.

RACE 4 - 2:47PM Thomas Farms Handicap (1250 METRES)

Mighty Sapphire got well back before closing late behind San Lucido at Gawler. He won his previous two on arriving to SA and should give this a big shake. Richard and Chantelle Jolly have Impossible Action resuming and he has trialled nicely and Pompeii Empire coming off a solid effort when 1.8 lengths behind Celsius Star at Gawler last time. Victorian Verbosity is chasing three wins in succession after scoring at Echuca and Penola. He draws a middle gate and looks well placed again. Costless comes of a last start win on the outer track beating Willybeafactor who has been 2nd at three of his past four.

SELECTIONS: 2 MIGHTY SAPPHIRE, 3 Pompeii Empire, 4 Verbosity, 6 Costless PLAY: Something on MIGHTY SAPPHIRE.

RACE 5 - 3:22PM Croser Handicap (1250 METRES)

Open start for quaddie players. Solesun is a well bred colt who has trialled up nicely for his return to racing. He was well backed on debut behind Escutore at Morphettville in September and can give this a big shake. Stablemate Pappiana has also prepped up OK for her debut winning a Murray Bridge trial before running 2nd at Oakbank in another trial earlier this week. She draws a sticky barrier. Angelic Appeal ran well in a handy race beaten 1.7 lengths behind She's Greysful last time. That's solid for this. Meg's Magic was a good Gawler winner before battling away behind Kalasec last week. Victorian Thailess won a Hamilton maiden last time out and gets an inside barrier. Never Surrender maps to get a good run and comes off a Gawler maiden win when he was easy in the market. Lapilli was a good winner two starts back. Harley'n'Rose has ability and worked home OK in the Kalasec race last week. He draws well. Enciphering resumes here and was a Murray Bridge maiden winner before a break and he has trialled well.

SELECTIONS: 6 SOLESUN, 8 Angelic Appeal 1 Never Surrender, 4 Meg's Magic PLAY: Something on SOLESUN each-way.

RACE 6 - 4:02PM Piper Heidsieck Handicap (1400 METRES)

Estrapaz chases four wins in succession here, the latest at Cranbourne, when he's led throughout on each occasion. He draws a good gate and should take some gunning down. Fellow Victorian Sandy Prince has been runner-up at both runs here and was a $2.60 favourite when well beaten last start at Moonee Valley back in late December. He maps well. Turf Decision was a Murray Bridge winner in July and comes out of an OK effort beaten 3.95 lengths behind Jungle Jim at Flemington and has won a recent Mt Gambier trial. EXALTED DAME is flying, she draws wide but hasn't run a bad race for a long time and was a good Murray Bridge winner last time out. Tapinforpar made good ground in that race after being sent out favourite. El Rocko is another Victorian who had good market support at Flemington when 4th behind Vagrant last time. Jenkins draws awkwardly but has a good record on the Parks.

SELECTIONS: 2 ESTRAPAZ, 1 Sandy Prince, 3 Turf Decision, 8 Exalted Dame PLAY: Something on ESTRAPAZ each-way and TURF DECISION who looks overs.

RACE 7 - 4:42PM PFD Food Services Handicap (1400 METRES)

San Lucido showed a nice turn of foot to power over the top of Willybeafactor to win at Gawler last time. He draws a sticky gate but looks to have strong claims again in another winnable race. Rising Legend is another who found winning form beating Zero Inn by 2 lengths at Murray Bridge last time. He gets weight relief from a sticky gate. Runsir draws a nice gate and was OK first-up in SA at Strathalbyn behind Not A Single Bid. Mavette has been around the mark and draws to get a nice run from a middle barrier. Snaptof has won her past three in the South East and draws a nice barrier.

SELECTIONS: SAN LUCIDO, Rising Legend, Runsir, Mavette PLAY: Something on SAN LUCIDO.

RACE 8 - 5:30PM Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1950 METRES)

Dual Fuel dropped in grade and won well getting up to the 1900m trip at Oakbank. The extra distance here won't worry her, and this looks another very winnable race. Tametomo has been around the mark and chased home Second To Nun at Gawler last time which is good form for a race like this. Speakeasy is a former Victorian who had specking but was well beaten in the same race. He draws to improve. Spray Gun had good support when 3rd behind Crimson Vine at Murray Bridge last time and should appreciate jumping up in trip. Charlesfort comes off a return to winning form at Penola but draws out.

SELECTIONS: 3 DUAL FUEL, 2 Tametomo, 9 Spray Gun, 6 Speakeasy PLAY: Keen on DUAL FUEL again.
