Australian thoroughbred Tab meetings are today held at Cranbourne, Scone, Geelong, Port Augusta and Albury.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 2 @ 6:15 PM

RIVERINA CYCLONE (8) is racing back from city class after finishing 10th at Caulfield over 1600m in her third run back from a spell and will strip a lot fitter today. Will appreciate the drop in class here and is the runner to beat. ZAFARANA (9) tried to lead all of the way last start but couldn't hold on and just missed when finishing second, well placed here to run another placing. MARCO SPADA (5) looks close to a winning run following a last start second over 1600m when coming from seventh on the turn, from a handy draw should be figuring in the finish. CARTESAN (1) resumes from a spell and has place claims based on his run two back when finishing third over 1600m at Terang, include in combinations.
SELECTIONS: Riverina Cyclone to win.

SCONE: RACE 6 @ 2:45 PM

CAMINO REAL (7) was a handy fresh winner before rattling home last start to finish a head away at Warwick Farm. Is down in the weights and will go back again from the wide alley. Expect her to be launching late. PARK AVENUE (1) fought hard to the line behind what looks a smart Queensland one. Lugs the top weight with drop in class. Drawn to get the gun run. OPTIMO (4) was't far away when fresh at Newcastle and will be fitter for that effort. He handles the going and he's sure to make his presence felt. MOBSTAR (15) looked good in a recent trial and was a winner first-up last preparation. Not out of this.
SELECTIONS: Backing Camino Real to be too strong for them late.

GEELONG: RACE 8 @ 4:45 PM

SAVVY SOVEREIGN (5) comes here off a last-start second, beaten 7 lengths by the promising Star Patrol over 1200m at Flemington. Has been racing well in town so this looks a nice race for him. A bold showing is expected. PRINCE OF MERCIA (10) closed last campaign with back-to-back placings, the last of which was at Stony Creek three-and-a-half months ago. Useful sprinter who was runner-up at Caulfield last prep which is good form for a race of this calibre. One of the leading chances. CIRCLE OF MAGIC (3) went forward and proved too strong when resuming last start, scoring with 1.75 lengths to spare over 1200m at Mornington. Consistent mare who is among the top-three contenders. LITTLE FAIFO (8) is in the mix first up. Beaten less than a length when resuming last time in work at Warrnambool over a similar trip.
SELECTIONS: #5 Savvy Sovereign is well and truly overdue - win bet.

PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 7 @ 4:00 PM

I'M KENNY (4) had been busting to win before disappointing here over the mile. Drops back to a sprint today but tipping he can manage it. He has the early pace to clear the sticky barrier and can get back on track. TIME WARRIOR (1) was plain here last time but had been threatening prior all at better level. He's a chance with average luck from the awkward draw. DISSOLVABLE (3) won the Maiden this track as expected and will get every chance to build on that. LEON'S SHOUT (2) won the Maiden here comfortably on resumption. Has the handy 3kg claim and the speedy galloper will get every chance to go on.
SELECTIONS: Backing I'm Kenny.

ALBURY: RACE 8 @ 4:14 PM

MATTASH (4) has been disappointing in both runs this time in, but faces his easiest assignment to date. He's drawn perfectly, he gets the blinkers on first time, and he's won 2/3 on wet tracks. Expecting him to be very hard to beat. THE DEEPEST SECRET (14) is ready to fire now third-up after making good ground late to just miss the placing last start, beaten 3.1L. The wide draw is no issue, as is the wet track. She'll be flooding home late. BELL'S INNOCENT (1) gets in nicely after the 4kg claim. She's won on a heavy surface before and she must be respected. BUZZ 'N' JOE (2) got the job done under a big weight here last time and mustn't be discounted.
SELECTIONS: Mattash looks the one to beat.
