Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Newcastle, Pakenham, Wangaratta, Queanbeyan, Townsville and Albany.

NEWCASTLE: RACE 1 @ 1:20 PM

The consistent EARL OF SANDWICH (2) has placed in the top five at all five career starts to date. Has placed at this track and will strip fitter third-up from the spell. From a very good yard and looks the one to beat. RED HOT ZONE (9) has had a few chances but was much improved when third at Gosford last time out. Has placed twice over the mile and gets the services of Berry. Can be in the mix. ELUSIVE JEWEL (4) was a handy second last time out at cricket score odds. Sure to take further improvement. WINTER THORN (1) is having his first run in Australia and is a massive watch.
SELECTIONS: Earl Of Sandwich to win.

PAKENHAM: RACE 8 @ 9:30 PM

GROOVY KINDA LOVE (3) stepped straight to this grade after maiden victory to win impressively last time. Takes on the males here but expected to go close again. PAL D'ORO (7) broke through in solid fashion last time and is up to a race like this. Won't be too far from the money. HUNAMOSA (5) ran a much better race last time suggesting a win is near. Expected to give them something to think about. MOSTLY SUNNY (12) has performed solidly at last couple of outings in town and should make a bold bid in this company.
SELECTIONS: Back Groovy Kinda Love.

WANGARATTA: RACE 6 @ 4:00 PM

The run of QUEEN OF ROCKS (4) at Pakenham last start wasn't bad considering it had to cover a lot of extra ground and still managed to finish in the placings. This race should be an easier task and can perform on wet or dry. Good chance. SEEL THE DEEL (6) is at the right stage of the prep to go well. Needs to show more than it did at Berrigan though to the a winning hope. GOTTALUVTRUCKS (2) goes ok over the distance and can go better. Trifecta chance. MEDUSA'S SON (9) has won here and over the trip. Consistent of late and the form reads ok. Not the worst and has to be included. JUST LIKE MUM (8) can go better second-up but is likely to find a few stronger. Include in wider exotics if you're looking.
SELECTIONS: Queen Of Rocks the win.

QUEANBEYAN: RACE 7 @ 4:10 PM

TIME FOR PEACE (10) resumes and can win this if presented on-song. Best on the fresh side and has the speed to control the race. Ford's booking suggests she's pleasing the Sydney yard. HALLIES COMET (2) reaches peak fitness for the top Canberra barn. A repeat of the Goulburn effort two-back would see her go close. GABRIELLAGRACE (6) debuts for the leading local barn and and is likely to have ability and be presented forward. Draws wide but keeps safe. ENCYCLOPEDIA (12) debuts with the blinkers on and has trialled well. The barrier is good and he's a betting watch as well. SELECTIONS: Time For Peace has an edge and should be ready to go.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 5 @ 2:42 PM

YOU DREAMT WHAT (2) missed a lip here second-up quickly finding form for the new yard. That reads very strongly in this line-up and fitter he'll be hard to roll using the rail. SMALL REWARD (9) peaks off the 1L defeat at Cairns and is on the improve. The 3kg claim brings her right into it. DREAM OF DUBAI (10) gets a claim and rates well but has to come back to a short sprint and that's the query. CHARLOTTE RULES (3) resumes with a leading hoop booked and has the speed to manage the sticky gate. She'll be improved and keep a close eye on the late betting. PLENTY OF TICKER (12) has also had a few tries but presents fitter and draws low. In the mix at odds.
SELECTIONS: Backing You Dreamt What.
