This race has been turned on its head by scratchings. BUBA (6) closed well but found one better when resuming over 1200m at Kembla 17 days ago. Strong second-up performer who races well here. Makes plenty of appeal from an ideal gate and the small field suits his racing pattern. IRISH KISSES (9) steps up in a trip after two strong efforts over 1100m since resuming. Genuine mare who probably dictates terms with the other speed runners coming out. Sure to give backers a sight. TAGS (3) last raced when he came from the clouds and just missed out on qualifying for the Country Championships in a heat over 1400m at Mudgee in late February. Has a fine record at this trip and on his best form is better than these. Can win if forward enough. ECKER ROAD (5) next best after a good win in open company at Gilgandra recently.
SELECTIONS: #6 Buba looks very hard to toss.
