SHORES OF AVALON (5) deserves to break through here with three consecutive runner-up finishes to start the campaign. Goes well for Loy who has a win and a placing from two steers and should be near her peak for this. In fine form and rates a serious winning chance. Victorian BRENLYN'S TROOPER (6) is building up a very handy record with three wins and four seconds from just ten outings. Has never missed a drum over this journey from three attempts and looms as the main threat. HEALING HANDS (3) will strip fitter second-up from the spell and is one for the exotics players. HEZREDHOT (16) has won four from nine over this trip and has to be included. MAJOR TIME (9) is usually thereabouts and can earn a cheque.

TUNCURRY: RACE 4 @ 3:25 PM
HARD TO EXCEL (8) races handy and is ready to win for the Sydney barn off two solid provincial runs. Draws to advantage and has the blinkers on first time. The longer sprint shouldn't bother. SCANLAN (12) peaks and has been busting to win in the country. Should have the tow to manage the sticky gate and with average luck can make the finish. OPAL GLORY (2) made a ratings spike beaten 2.6L at Wyong at the mile. Has a handy claim but will get back and require a decent ride. Each way. CURRENCY QUEEN (10) was good the latest in an easier Maiden. Will be further improved but the barrier is against.
