RACE 1

RACING TALENT (2) - Well suited by these conditions in this basement grade of Class 5. Likes to lead and would look one of the more obvious ones in the race.

SOUTHERN GLORY (7) - Looked a little one-paced on Class 5 debut last start, but if building on that performance, it is fully conceivable he can go a couple of places better.

SUGARTIME JAZZ (12) - Has leading claims for winning the ‘worst Class 5 of the year’ award when scoring last time out and at least he comes into the race on the back of a positive performance.

FIGHTING WARRIOR (3) - Wasn’t too bad when fourth on latest outing. One to include if you really are tempted to have a quartet!.

RACE 2

JOMO (8) - Has won both his trials in the style of a very nice horse, most recently shaking off the attentions of the smart Siam Vipasiri in 60.26. Unbeaten in two trials in Australia to boot, his dam is a three-time winning half-sister to the Group 3 scorer Bardego and he himself is a half-brother to the five-time winner Skyfire (1600m-2200m). Very interesting on debut.

I’M INCREDIBLE (6) - Has a similar profile to the selection on trials form (won two in Australia), won his second trial here with some ease in a deceivingly slow 62.28. He is a half-brother to the six furlong-winner In A Twinkling and his dam was a Group 3 winner and won six from 1400m to 2800m. So mixed messages on breeding but is in good hands and has been well prepared for this debut.

MOUNT BROMO (9) - Ran a massive race on debut when third to stablemate and $400 winner Winning Ticket at the end of last month and if able to improve on that, he should be in the thick of things again.

THOMAS DE LAGO (1) - Just ahead of Mount Bromo when they last met. Second at his last four runs. He is a fit horse and is in form so must be considered.

RACE 3

OCEAN MASTER (8) - Only one win from 25 starts but stormed home behind Smart Fortune when the race was all but over and is just one point higher than at his only win. Leading chance in weak race.

HONOR (4) - She has had her limitations fully exposed but that said, she has solid form off similar handicap marks and should be in the mix at the business end.

EVIL WESLEY (1) - Has shown bits and pieces. For that would sure give him a chance in an uncompetitive race like this one, dropped a further two points now. Market watch required.

PACIFIC OCEAN (2) - This will be the weakest race he will have contested here in ten starts in Singapore and even though he is back in distance by some way, it would be no surprise to see him run well.

RACE 4

SMART RACER (6) - Not far off Tuscan Artist earlier this month when giving him 1.5kgs (now better off at the weights) over the 1600m. He took a while to organise himself in the home straight for Michael Rodd and the extra distance looks sure to suit the son of Canford Cliffs. Solid chance.

HOUSEBOAT HARRY (10) - This Stephen Gray-trained galloper was a massive eye-catcher on Jockeys Challenge night when flying home under Aldo Domeyer in 22.99 over the course and distance. Second try at this trip and it could prove just what’s required for the in-form Copperbelt team.

KATE’S KEEPER (7) - Winless since February 2017 but is now 10 points lower than that win in Kranji C company over Friday’s course and distance. Recent form is far from poor from this 9yo and he warrants plenty of respect indeed.

TUSCAN ARTIST (2) - A strong win when making all last time out (Smart Racer third), it’s unlikely he will have things all his own way again but is more than capable of running well again.

RACE 5

ELITE POWER (1) - This former Listed winner in the UK has been ultra-consistent here in Singapore and would set the standard in this contest with some very useful course and distance form. The one to side with here.

COUSTEAU (9) - Can give his stablemate most to think about having run two very honest seconds in his last couple of appearances. Now one point higher, he should still get very competitive.

YABADABADOO (4) - Ran a huge race behind Cadet when resuming on Raffles Cup day over this course and distance on the back of finding the 3yo series too tough. This is a more realistic level and expect another bold show.

OTTAWA (6) - Came from a long way back to score in lesser grade last time out and although that was a Class 4 Non Premier, he can pick up some pieces on the back of getting his head in front.

RACE 6

SOLDADO (3) - Would certainly deserve to win one now! (placed in last six outings) and on his most recent run he was only beaten by the well-backed Destroyer Eclipse (ninth since). He is race-fit and has the form to back it up.

FIRE AWAY (7) - Was somewhat plain last start after hanging outwards throughout on the turf, perhaps getting back on the Polytrack will suit him better and he is still extremely lightly-raced and can be forgiven for that poor run.

LIM’S BLAST (2) - The recent form figures don’t make great appeal but he is now back in grade to Class 4 and on his best form, a mark of 61 should not be too much of a barrier and his latest trials suggest he is ready to do himself justice.

BEST WISHES (1) - Would seem like one to include for exotics on the pick of his efforts during the second half of 2018.

RACE 7

BOLD THRUSTER (14) – Looks the real deal and judged on recent racing and his latest trial, he should take some stopping here. The one they all have to beat.

ZAC KASA (6) - His defeat last time out at the hooves of Constant Justice came as a bit of a surprise, though we must remember the winner that day is a smart sprinter himself. The Lion City Cup second is what he should be judged on given that was over course and distance and this return to the turf is ideal.

TANNHAUSER (2) - Making an eagerly-awaited return after the wheels took something more than a wobble in his last two starts (last seen 29th June). He has looked back to something like his best in a recent trial when second to Bold Thruster and if he is, he will have a part to play, although quite a bit taken on trust.

PAPARAZZI (11) - Course and distance form is excellent (three wins) and was far from disgraced in the Group 2 Stewards’ Cup over slightly further. Two trials would have put him right for this.

RACE 8

NATIONALITY (11) – Performed well on debut in Singapore when finishing third behind Silkino. Has since trialled well leading into this affair which indicates a bold showing second-up. Will be handy to the speed and prove hard to get past.

JULIUS CAESAR (1) – Hit the line strongly last time out when only narrowly beaten over the same track/distance. Despite being well drawn, he will most likely go back and utilise his turn of foot. Major player at the business end.

MAN OF MYSTERY (10) – Trialled well leading into his debut run in Singapore when he eventually had to share the spoils by dead-heating. Will strip fitter for this assignment and will appreciate the 3 kilo claim from apprentice Ng Choon Kiat. Consider again.

FILIBUSTER (3) – Somewhat disappointed last time out when starting short in the market. Track record holder over the 1100m so if she can return to her best, she must be respected. Finds a suitable task to make amends.
