Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on January 19.
Major TAB meetings throughout Australia are today conducted at Rosehill, Flemington, Eagle Farm, Morphettville and Ascot.
Rosehill: Race 2 @ 8:45pm
Above And Beyond and Zourhea can inject the early speed. LJUNGBERG is profiling as a well above average type. Showed promise as a two-year-old however has found a new level this campaign since being gelded. Won first up on a testing track at Canterbury then was dominant on the Kensington over this trip a fortnight ago. Takes on the older horses for the first time here however still suspect he will take a power of beating. ZOURHEA has been given time to mature since a strong maiden prep through the winter. Debut winner VEGADAZE the best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Straight out #2 Ljungberg.

Flemington: Race 9 @ 5:55pm (AEDT)
Streets Of Avalon and Top Me Up look to be among those prominent. Top pick. INTUITION ran on well in Sydney last time. Think he is going really well and this can suit. Top pick. LANGHRO was really good first up behind a strong winner. That formline has been working out really well and he was just first up that day. Can only be fitter for what looks a great platform race. JUST HIFALUTIN will be fitter for a strong return. Her straight for gives her a big look at this. Streets Of Avalon is another fitter for a solid return run. SELECTIONS: Siding with #11 Intuition.
Eagle Farm: Race 6 @ 4:32pm
Plenty of pace with many possessing good early toe including Mishani Hustler, Winter Passage, Ramtastic and Elixir. MISHANI HUSTLER was far from disgraced when beaten 1.3L when resuming in a Listed race against older sprinters. Had a terrific juvenile campaign where he won the Listed Dalrello and was G2 placed. Hard to beat back to his own age group second up. RAMTASTIC is progressive with two wins and a second from three starts. Impressed when an easy 2.5L winner last start. Has plenty of upside. VIRAL was fourth in a G3 behind the subsequent Magic Millions Guineas winner last start. Does his best work at 1200m. CALZINI has won three of her last five. Respect. SELECTIONS: #1 Mishani Hustler to win back to his own age group.
Morphettville: Race 7 @ 6:45pm
Dr Dependable is capable of kicking up early. CRIMSON TEARS has been racing well in Victoria, Started this campaign with back-to-back wins then placed at her next two outings in the city including a 1.3L third at Caulfield last time. Lightly-raced mare with upside. Looks well placed. EXCESSABEEL was far from disgraced when fourth at Flemington last start. Had won two of her previous three including at this course and distance two back. Threat. CONVERGING is another back in grade from Flemington last start. Had impressed with a fast-finishing Warrnambool win before that. BUSKER'S BALLAD is consistent and is worth including in multiples. SELECTIONS: Backing the progressive #5 Crimson Tears to win off good Victorian form from #2, #8 and #7.
Ascot: Race 8 @ 10:00pm
Expect a good solid tempo in the final event of the day. MIKIMOTO creates plenty of interest in her return, unseen since finishing third in the 2017 W.A. Champion Fillies Stakes. Since switched stables and has trialled very well in the lead up. No question she is the best horse in this race, but can she come from near last and run them down? Yes she can. DOUBLE JEOPARDY has been rock solid in both starts to begin this preparation and should be right at her peak racing third up. Drawn well and looms as a major threat. ALPHA SKY next best (blinkers first time). SELECTIONS: Very keen on #7 Mikimoto in her return.
