Today’s Horse Racing Tips – April 10

3 minute read

Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on April 10.

Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Gosford, Sandown, Ipswich, Ascot & Balaklava.

Gosford: Race 4 @ 2:35pm

The free-rolling Kylease leads but will be kept busy by Bubbles'n'troubles. KYLEASE (6) made it two wins from only three starts when she led all the way to score comfortably over 1250m on the Kensington track last start. Kept up to the mark since that win five weeks ago with a recent trial success. Promising filly and it will take a mighty effort for one of these to give her a start and a beating. The likely threat is REGINAE (1) first up for 200 days. Won her first two runs last prep then ran a respectable 6th in Listed company at Caulfield before being turned out. Recent trial winner who is forward enough to run a big race. GENTLE PERSUASION (12) closed well in heavy going to finish 4th recently over this trip at Warwick Farm. Drawn well and is ready to peak third up on a firmer track. SELECTIONS: The class of #6 Kylease to shine through.

Ipswich: Race 3 @ 1:43pm

Embattles looks the most likely to lead. STAR CENTRE (11) just missed at Doomben at his second run and finds a bit easier. That rates well for this and he looks well placed with the 3kg claimer sticking. EMBATTLED (2) led and just missed at Doomben as a gelding on resumption in a touch stronger and is back improved. He will have come on and is sure to go close. I'M CALLIN' DIBS (4) resumes for Currie off a low gate. Expected to have ability. PICTON (9) was okay second-up and didn’t have much luck. Fitter he will be around the mark with the 3kg claim. SELECTIONS: Competitive but #11 Star Centre gets the nod.

Balaklava: Race 5 @ 3:05pm

AMERISSA (4) comes back from campaigning in Victoria and won't get a better chance to break through. Will find this easier and will be hard to hold out. MISS FIALKA (5) dropped back to a mile for first run for new yard. Wasn't disgraced in town and fitter for now. Now back out to the trip she won her maiden at two back when on the Gold Coast. Expected to go close. SHAKOPEE (1) has been thereabouts and rates an each way chance. EXALTED BLOOM (3) is a hurdler but more than capable on the flat and this not tough. ZAALADD (6) next best. SELECTIONS: Amerissa won't get a better chance.

Sandown: Race 6 @ 3:55pm

BLINDER (2) ran a blinder in the Listed Bendigo Guineas last time, beaten just over a length. Can only be fitter and back in grade here. Expected to go close. HEIR TO THE THRONE (1) was also good fresh, finishing runner up in the same grade as today. Further improved and drawn for a sweet run here. GRETZKY (10) has placed at both runs this time in. Harder here but has the weight drop and will take catching. MOUNT TABORA (5) is a former UK galloper who was well held fresh but will strip far fitter and suited at the extra journey. SKELM (7) is racing well and drawn for a nice run. SELECTIONS Blinder will go close with repeat of fresh run.

Joe Pride-trained filly Kylease is building an impressive record. After a second on debut she is now the winner of her last three starts in succession. She began well and soon went to the front. She then ran along at quite a good tempo, dashed clear halfway down the straight and then went on to score easily.
