Mr Dujardin Ready To Win

The Lee Freedman trained Mr Dujardin didn't have a lot of luck last start, but gets his chance to atone at Singapore this evening.

Due to contest the eighth event, Mr Dujardin was unable to come into contention last start, but was unsuited by the moderate tempo and didn't have the best of luck in the straight.

Working home fairly well to finish sixth, he is sure to appreciate the step back up to 2000m and appears well placed in this grade.

Prior to his last start, he finished second twice, both in Kranji Stakes C company.

On both occasions he was a sectional star and a return to that level of form should see him very hard to beat.

A noted backmarker, the middle draw may allow him to settle closer to the speed, as he was forced to snag back to the rear last start.

In five attempts over 2000m he has placed in four attempts, including two of his three career wins.

In 14 attempts on the turf track he has placed in seven and while giving weight away, he is very well placed in this grade.

When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings he holds a solid edge and while his racing pattern is low percentage, he should have too much in the locker.

The Ricardo Le Grange trained Majestic Empress finished ahead of Mr Dujardin last start and looms as a major threat despite the wide draw.

An impressive winner two back at this course and distance, she is more than capable, despite rising 2.5kg at the weights since that win.

Leading rider Vlad Duric sticks aboard and while she too is likely to get back, she too should be strong late.

The Cliff Brown trained Gold City has been right around the mark in recent efforts and she is sure to appreciate the drop back in grade.

While clearly no match for Circuit Mission last start, this is a good deal easier and the booking of Michael Rodd is a decent push.

A winner of two of her 16 starts, she has placed on a further seven occasions and has drawn to get a lovely run.

She should be right at her peak racing fifth up and has to be respected.

Of the rest the Michael Clements trained Alamak appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
