Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on May 16.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Wyong, Hamilton, Pakenham, Cairns & Northam.
Wyong: Race 6 @ 3:10pm
Pick Of The Day and Nathan Road will set the tempo in what should be a genuinely run race. SEEINGISBELIEVING (1) stepped up to the mile for the first time this prep recently at this track, driving hard late and missing out by a whisker (protested unsuccessfully). Cherry-ripe now and ready to win. OUR FUN (2) took the short cuts and showed a nice turn of foot to score on debut over 1400m at Kembla last time out. By Dundeel so the extra furlong does his chances no harm. PICK OF THE DAY (7) was there on straightening but battled late to finish 4th when resuming over 1300m at Newcastle last start. Form second-up is far better and this trip will be more her cup of tea. NATHAN ROAD (9) is ready to step up to the mile after three runs back. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #1 Seeingisbelieving.

Hamilton: Race 7 @ 4:00pm
GREGORIAN CHANT (5) ran a much improved race second up. Well suited here over the longer journey now. Should prove hard to beat. SCHOOLWORK (6) is fitter and rates among the winning hopes. Won only start here. SING OH DANNY BOY (2) was thereabouts last time and rates well here. OUR HENRIETTA (12) is an each way hope despite the draw. REX BELL (8) has claims on best form. SELECTIONS: Gregorian Chant is suited here.
Pakenham: Race 4 @ 9:30pm
Aluf can lead from Segouin and Weekend Escape. ALUF (2) won twice and has placed the two since. He’s fast and gets his chance to break back. WEEKEND ESCAPE (9) resumes for the new yard and is a first-up winner who can win at best. The gear comes off and expect a bold return pinging along from the rail. EDUCATE (5) has also been freshened and has trialled for this. Uses the low gate and his best would have him right in the finish. SELECTIONS # 2 Aluf looks well placed.
