Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on June 16.
A number of TAB meetings are being held across Australia this Sunday, at Echuca, Sunshine Coast, Mount Gambier, Kalgoorlie and Port Macquarie.
Echuca: Race 8 @ 3:50pm
Genuine early speed from Helmaz and Falls drawn in and Banstead and Per Perseverance drawn midfield. FALLS (1) hasn't missed a place in three career starts including a strong win in town last start on the Heavy. He'll be further improved third up and has drawn ideally to race handy. Looks the one to beat. WIDESPREAD (13) from the powerful Godolphin operation looks the danger despite the wide draw. Raced keenly and without luck last start. PIERRO BELLE (11) has the ability but is finding it hard to win another race. Don't leave out. HOWLOWCANYOUGO (2) came from a long way back to win on debut and creates interest here. Worth watching. HELMAZ (4) is open to improvement second up and ran second to Terbium last campaign. Keep safe. Chances don't end there. SELECTIONS: #1 Falls the win

Sunshine Coast: Race 4 @ 1.57pm
Countercurrent will lead with The Administrator and Sylvester keeping her honest. VILLENEUVE LADY (11) returned from a 12-week spell and impressed with a 1.5 lengths win over this course and distance after being shuffled back before straightening. Looks to have turned the corner and with a sweet run from the inside alley can score again. HEAVENLY ARCHER (7) is worth considering first up from a five-month spell. Was not beaten far in the last few runs of last prep but never really threatened - the application of blinkers today might flick the switch. COUNTERCURRENT (10) is also a threat first up from a spell for new trainer Michael Costa. Won a recent trial in great style and also sports blinkers for the first time today. THE ADMINISTRATOR (1) next in line. SELECTIONS: Hard to go against #11 Villeneuve Lady.
Mount Gambier: Race 5 @ 3:35pm
Hasta La Devega, Wonga Miss and Just Mak can run them along. HASTA LA DEVEGA (1) led second-up on the heavy and spaced the Penola Maidens. Doubt this is any harder and he can take the next step. STAGHORN (8) has been a around the mark without winning. He rates okay and has to be considered on-pace with a claim. ZEZE ULATER (5) will be better third-up with the winkers on again and drawn low can fill a spot. ARDIZZONE (3) resumes in easier and has won fresh. Gets the 3kg claim and keep him very safe. SELECTIONS: # 1 Hasta La Devega has the upside most of these don’t.
Kalgoorlie: Race 6 @ 5:50pm
Excaro can lead and there will be a number on her tail. EXCARO (3) is a promising mare who made it 2/3 this campaign winning the CL1 by nearly five lengths. Was heavily-backed again and today will make short work on the wide gate. She can keep things rolling. NEMIROFF (5) resumes and is up to this at best. He goes well fresh and gets the blinkers again. He has the speed to clear the gate and needs to be kept very safe. ALL THAT SIZZLE (10) placed at Northam off the York win and then got too far back after and inclined to forgive. She’s not without a hope. EVOLUTIONIST (1) has more to offer second-up. SELECTIONS: # 3 Excaro clearly rates to win again.
Port Macquarie: Race 1 @ 11:55am
FULL OF SPIRIT (10) deserved a win. Run off his legs over the 800m here last start but his closing splits were very good. Trending the right way. Blinkers removed for today's assignment. Should be ridden with aggression up to this distance and he appears the one to beat. HIBERN (11) was no match for the $1.50 stablemate on debut but her effort in second was very good. Bound to appreciate further in time but is clearly talented. Market watch. PEACHIES DREAM (7) has had a few chances by now. Not hopeless on best form and the soft alley gives her every chance. MYMATEMITCH (1) for the exotics. SELECTIONS: #10 Full Of Spirit to open proceedings.
