Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 3.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Canterbury, Sandown, Ipswich, Belmont, Gawler & Canberra.

Sandown: Race 5 @ 2:45pm

KINKY BOOM (6) is a smart filly resuming. Well placed here and will be hard to hold out. ATLANTICA (1) was winner this grade with the same weight last time and should be in the finish again. FORBID ME NOT (2) was an easy winner fresh and has further upside. Rates among the chances. MAGNESIUM ROSE (4) is ready to win now after two runs back, placing the latest. UNDOUBTABLE MISS (7) will be winding up strongly. SELECTIONS: Keen on Kinky Boom.

Ipswich: Race 4 @ 1:47pm

Elementae, Gratuitous and If The Shoe Fits can make the pace. CONSTRUE (5) was back to form just beaten at Doomben when she finished it off well. Gets high stable striker Fradd today and rates to go one better. SUCCEEDANDCONQUER (2) has placed the last three and didn’t have the best of it the latest at Doomben SP $3.0. He will use the rail and gets another chance. GRATUITOUS (9) just missed at the Gold Coast and then things didn’t work out as favourite at Doomben. The blinkers come off and expect a much improved run. ARZU (7) and ELEMENTAE (3) are also in the mix. SELECTIONS: #4 Construe wins comfortably at best.

Canterbury: Race 3 @ 2:00pm

Mini Boom will go fast, as may one or more of the first starters. STARLA (1) has not raced since finishing just 2.9 lengths away in the G3 Magic Night behind subsequent Slipper winner Kiamichi over this trip at Rosehill on 16 March. Trialled in good style recently and looks to have a class edge on this lineup. Stablemate ZOURIANA (13) drove hard late and just missed in a three-way go over 1100m at this circuit a fortnight ago. Fitter for two runs back and will appreciate the slight step up to six furlongs now. Star Witness filly LADY HERBERT (6) is a recent trial winner who is worth keeping an eye on at her debut. The speedy MINI BOOM (3) can give a sight. SELECTIONS: Strong push for #1 Starla.

Belmont: Race 3 @ 3.49pm (AEST)

Onya Head is a fast beginner and should lead comfortably. ARSINOE (8) has settled back before making good late ground in his two runs this prep over 1300m and 1400m. Placed at a mile third up last prep at Ascot so this looks an ideal assignment. FAIRY FAST (6) improved sharply last time when second up, closing from next to last on the bend to get up for 4th over 1406m at Pinjarra. Lightly raced filly who looks in need of this sort of trip with the added fitness today. STELLA ANNE (9) raced wide with no cover but still made a late impression over the mile here recently. Could fill a hole at odds with better luck in running this time. YOURTHEONEFORME (5) finally broke through last start and is in the mix again.SELECTIONS: Very keen on #8 Arsinoe.

Canberra: Race 7 @ 4:00pm

Manzana can lead from Prince Jacko and Territorial. Another very competitive $40,000 Federal. YOUSAY BOLT (8) looked in need of it resuming at Flemington and then improved to just miss at Albury as favourite. Peaks now up to a favourite trip, and the promising mare shapes as the one to beat. FARTHING WOOD (11) has unwound big finishes to win both runs back at this venue. This is tougher again, but her figures stack right up and she may sit handier today drawing a decent gate. PRINCE JACKO (6) put in a tough effort when wide all way this grade the latest. He draws handier and he keeps improving. ONS VIER (4) didn’t have the best of it in the Federal 26 days ago as favourite, beaten 1.5L behind Prince Jacko. A winning effort wouldn’t surprise. SELECTIONS: A good betting race. With Yousay Bolt — the new kid on the block.
