Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 16.

Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Albury, Ballina, Ballarat & Cairns.        

Ballarat Race 7 @ 4:00pm 

Safety Dancer and Villa Fortuna will be prominent from the jump. SAFETY DANCE (1) has just missed the last two here as favourite and keeps improving. Draws handy with a claim and can be winning. BRILLIANT CONCEPT (3) is also on the improve and the Maiden win here was deserved. He’s a genuine chance using the low gate. TYCOON BILL (11) hit the lone well placing in stronger grade and can make the finish pushing forward. IRISH DELIGHT (9) won and placed and then didn’t get into it in stronger. Gets Rawiller and a bounce wouldn’t surprise. SELECTIONS: #1 Safety Dancer looks placed to win by the strong yard.

Albury: Race 2 @ 1:45pm

Toffey Miss to cross and lead but the pace looks moderate only for a race of this distance. TOO HARD TO HANDLE (2) will prove hard to beat first up from a two-month let-up. Unplaced last start over 1100m on the Pakenham synthetic after doing a lot of work early from a wide gate. Should be right on the speed again today from a favourable draw and while fresh will be very tough to catch. DOCTOR FORCE (7) worked home well but found the 1000m a bit sharp last time out when 4th at Wagga. Has won twice and placed twice from six runs at this trip. Strong chance down in the weights. XIN LOI (3) lost a forward position early in the race then came again to clock-in a close 4th over 1100m at Gundagai recently. Ready to peak third up. Expect a better run today from TOFFEY MISS (4) as she gets over a little more ground. SELECTIONS: #2 Too Hard To Handle to win while fresh.

Cairns: Race 5 @ 2:12pm

Dream I Can to lead from Aggarwal. AGGARWAL (2) is promising and peaks off the Townsville win this grade. He hasn’t missed a beat since coming north and rates to win again. DREAM I CAN (1) brings strong NSW form to the resumption and has placed 4/4 first-up. He runs along and could win this at best for the new yard. LANSALA (3) is a former Canberra galloper who goes well fresh. Best to forget the run here before the spell. INDY SHOWGIRL (9) improved last time in the bush and is in the mix at odds. SELECTIONS: #2 Aggarwal is well placed. In Race 7, # 4 Polar Blast also looks hard to beat. 

Ballina: Race 4 @ 2:40pm

Big Buddie goes fast early and leads. JAKUTA (1) has placed 5/7 when resuming which brings him right under notice resuming today from a three-month break. Placed up to BM75 level last prep so this is a huge drop in class. Both runs at this track have been very good - everything points to a bright return.  Another one resuming with claims is INTIMISSIMI (4). Impressed at all three runs in the maiden campaign, including a Sunshine Coast win over 1400m. Won a recent trial so looks ready to run. CONQUERS ALL (10) has been freshened up since charging home to grab 2nd over 1200m at Lismore 45 days ago. Will be hard to hold out in the small field. Last start winner PADDLES (8) best of the rest.  SELECTIONS: #1 Jakuta to win.
