Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 19.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Dubbo, Taree, Pakenham & Ipswich.
Dubbo: Race 2 @ 12:30pm
Only a trot and canter likely with no noted on-pacers lining up. CAT WALK QUEEN (7) is a 21-start maiden but racing well at present and finds a very shallow maiden today. Raced handy and boxed on well for 2nd last start, her second such finish on the trot. Today might be her day. GET UP ALBY (8) came wide on the corner then worked home okay to finish 4th in the same race as the top pick last time, just under 2 lengths adrift of today's rival. Will be more effective over this distance so poses a threat. EGYPTIAN PHARAOH (1) found the line well last start to finish 3rd over 1400m at Wellington. Starting to hit his straps now and looks a chance over an extra furlong today. ARRAIGN (3) for the exotics. SELECTIONS: #7 Cat Walk Queen looks ready to finally break the ice.

Pakenham: Race 4 @ 2:30pm
Not obvious how they will settle. PAPERBOY (8) resumes and missed a lip well-backed at his first two runs. Those read very well for this and expect a bold return with Dwayne Dunn riding from a low gate. BLACK SEA (3) has placed the last three and hits the line. Draws out, but can be right in the finish again. IT'S A RAH (9) has been racing well without winning and gets another chance with a good Kah ride. BAZZA debuts from a handy gate and has trialled well. Keep him very safe. MISCHIEVOUS LAD (7) was slow away resuming and is better than the form-line suggests. SELECTIONS: This is a tough program. Defaulted to a Maiden and #8 Paperboy who looked good at his first preparations and should come back even better.
Taree: Race 6 @ 3:15pm
Just an even tempo expected, headed by Acoustix and Chateauroux. ACOUSTIX (2) put the writing on the wall last start when he charged home over the final furlong to finish runner-up to a subsequent winner over 1415m at Grafton. Back in trip today but can race a bit closer from a good gate. Ready to peak now after four runs back. The lightly raced HERCULES MO (7) saluted at just his fourth race start recently over 1200m at Tamworth, travelling on the pace then showing a nice turn of foot. Open to further improvement as he steps up in trip. ZIOPTIMUS (1) chased solidly to finish just 1.2 lengths from the winner in a Class 6 over 1200m at Grafton last time out. Races well here and is a winner at the trip so looks a huge chance dropping back sharply in grade. SHEERAN (5) is in the mix second up from a six-week break. SELECTIONS: #2 Acoustix brings the right form to the table.
Ipswich: Race 6 @ 4:40pm
Solid speed expected. BUBBLES'N'TROUBLES (1) has always been a talented type. She's onto her third trainer now (Ex Waller, Edmonds). Didn't handle the bog at Doomben last start. Prior form in Stakes races etc was very solid. Will be aided by the rise in trip. Hard to beat back to CL2 level. GREY SKIES (2) will look the winner at some stage. Struggling to convert good form into winning form of late. Worried out of it by Princess Cavallo last start. Gets in well with the claim. ARCHER'S TREASURE (3) has blinkers first time. Can improve on a drier deck. PICKA PLUM (7) with all the upside should be kept safe. SELECTIONS: Bubbles'n'troubles for the win. Back to CL2 level she won’t get a better opportunity.
