Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on July 23.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Wyong, Wellington, Pakenham & Yeppoon.
Wyong: Race 7 @ 4:05pm
My Friend Charlie from a wide gate will probably cross to look for the lead in a low-pressure affair. Five last start winners in the nine runners. JOIGNY (8) ran some impressive closing splits to score by 3 lengths over this course and distance last start after travelling up on the speed. Genuine filly who enjoys the run of the race again and is clearly the one to beat. SOCIETY (9) was friendless in betting on debut last time out over 1400m at Newcastle but defied the betting drift with a powerful come-from-behind win. Bred to be even better as she gets out to this trip. Next best is another last start winner in FOXDOWN (4) who got the job done comfortably over this trip at Dubbo. Facing a tougher task today but his record at the mile is hard to ignore. EL COYOTE (2) has come back in tremendous order this prep and is a must for exotics punters. SELECTIONS: Very keen on #8 Joigny to win again.

Yeppoon: Race 3 @ 1:42pm
Four Excel can lead. COLOSSEUM KING (6) has placed the last two in Mackay and is figures more than stack up despite the jump today to open grade. Expect him to take plenty of beating with the weight drop. CASINO THOUGHTS (2) won well here this grade three back but has been a bit plain the last two. He gets a low gate and Stanley for the apprentice and a winning run won’t surprise. FOUR EXCEL (5) can run them along and is knocking on the door. He’s also suited today and is a chance. ISIS MAGIC (1) peaks with a claim and will be around the mark finding her best. SELECTIONS: Keen on Colosseum King.
Pakenham Synthetic: Race 8 @ 4:00pm
ENRICO PALLAZZO (5) came to this trip and won the Maiden easily on the Ballarat synthetic after being wide. He impressed and can win again based on that. THURMANATOR (4) brings strong form at this venue winning three back and missing a lip the two since. Ran this trip right out the latest and he’s the danger. PENTHOUSE KITTEN (8) won here and then didn’t have the best of it on the grass after. Keeps improving but needs a good ride. TEXAN LASS (12) for the multiples at odds. SELECTIONS: Picking Enrico Pallazzo can go on with it.
Wellington: Race 8 @ 4:55pm
A great tussle for early honours between Thee Jenner, Ecstatically, and possibly Slatey Bay. The lightly-raced SLATEY BAY (8) led everywhere but the final bound on debut over 1200m, then sat back and charged home to win last time over this trip at Dubbo. Looks to have a couple of strings to his bow. Capable of tackling this stronger race and coming out on top. ROSESAY (4) burst through a gap and flew late but missed by a lip over 1200m at Mudgee last time out. Has failed at this trip before but looks ready for the step up in distance now. DUSKY DAMSEL (7) drove hard late to topple a subsequent winner over 1320m at Dubbo recently. Big chance again now that she has hit her straps. TAPANUI (5) attempts the hat-trick today and cannot be left out. SELECTIONS: #8 Slatey Bay has all the upside and can win again.
