Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 1.
Five TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Coffs Harbour, Hawkesbury, Pakenham, Rockhampton & Northam.
Coffs Harbour: Race 7 @ 4:10pm
A truly run Coffs Harbour Cup looks assured with Fuel leading the way. LOOKS LIKE ELVIS (5) was well-supported and got the job done impressively over 1400m at Eagle Farm last start. Yet to miss a place in three runs at the mile and will be at his peak third up from a spell. The widely travelled CURRAGH (3) has a 4th in G3 company in Adelaide, a 3rd at Flemington, and a last start win over 1500m at Rosehill to his name in the last four runs. Will appreciate the sting out of the track and looks hard to toss again over his pet distance. HALLELUJAH BOY (1) cannot be ruled out despite coming off a three-month spell. Won in Listed company at Doomben over this trip last prep, and does perform well when fresh. The in-form BODEGA NEGRA (18) has a shocking gate to overcome but is hard to deny on recent efforts. SELECTIONS: #5 Looks Like Elvis to win.

Pakenham Synthetic: Race 4 @ 3:00pm
Finally Free looks the one to lead. LOVE MACHINE (6) improved sharply winning the Maiden here second-up and then missed a nose in the CL1 the same venue. Meech will run her along again from a low gate and she will take beating. CUBAN TOONITE (3) was okay here before the spell and came back in good order placing on the grass in this grade. He draw handy with the claim and has the figures to go close. VOGUE EMPRESS (9) also came from the back impressing here resuming in the 58. He has more to give and is also a genuine hope. SELECTIONS: #6 Love Machine gets the nod in a good contest.
Hawkesbury: Race 7 @ 3.50pm
Manly Cove and Billy Piu Style will be joined by Lord Zoulander from a wide gate in a keen battle for the early lead. DUNBRODY POWER (4) started deep in the red and justified the short quote by scoring her maiden win over 1000m at Kembla first up from a spell. Has always been well-supported so there is a bit of a wrap on this filly and she looks to be putting it together now. Can win again. INTREPIDACIOUS (6) will find this far easier than his first couple of runs this prep, both in Sydney. Battled away in heavy going to finish 5th to the promising Spend over this trip at Rosehill last time. Big chance back at the provincials. BILLY PIU STYLE (10) led all the way to win on debut over 900m at Cessnock last time out. Faces a tougher field today over an extra furlong but looks above average. The speedy MANLY COVE (1) has minor claims but won't get things his own way in front. SELECTIONS: #4 Dunbrody Power to win, then in a quinella with #6 Intrepidacious.
Northam: Race 7 @ 6:30pm
Bloomy’s Sun is the most likely to lead. ARSINOE (5) peaks and has been racing well without winning. The mile suits better and Pike sticking is a plus. She rates the one to beat in this line-up. BLITZ 'EM BOOTZ (3) won the Maiden well here this trip and will be better for it. She’s a chance to repeat. BUTTERLEA LAD (1) will use the low gate and go on the CL1 win at Belmont two back. Back to the mile suits better. FRENCH TOAST (9) may be best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Keen on # 5 Arsinoe.
