Despite still a maiden, the Stephen Gray trained St Alwyn appears poised to break through in the final event at Kranji on Sunday.
Lining up in Class 4 company, the son of Epaulette gets in very well at the weights with the in-form Alysha Collett taking over.
In four starts St Alwyn has never missed the money and returned with an encouraging effort last start when third behind Adipson.
Off a 62 day break, St Alwyn began well and travelled right on speed under Vlad Duric.
Taking over shortly after straightening, St Alwyn gave a decent kick, but was a sitting shot late.
Suspect he will take plenty of benefit from that run and he is sure to appreciate the step up to the mile.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings, he appears very well placed and should get a lovely run in transit from the inside draw.
Although some may question his desire, it's hard to be overly critical after just four starts.
With each visit to the races he has improved and he notably returned decent figures last start.
Not easy taking on the more experience and better performed rivals, however he does have upside.
Still does a bit wrong, but with even luck, he should prove hard to beat.
The Leslie Khoo trained Yaya Papaya really caught the eye last start and looms as a major threat with Duric sticking aboard.
A winner of three of his 30 starts, he has placed on a further seven occasions and notably does his best work over the mile (placed 9/14).
Although yet to win on the turf track, he looks to get a decent chance tonight and while expected to get back from the draw, he should be very strong late.
The Michael Clements trained Loving You has been below her best in recent outings, but is sure to appreciate the drop back in grade.
Only relatively lightly raced, she has placed in seven of 15 attempts and gives the impression she will relish the step up to the mile.
From the inside draw she should be able to get into a prominent position and be presented as a solid winning chance.
Of the rest the Cliff Brown trained Magnificent Gold appears the next in line.
Good luck and happy punting.
