Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on August 15.
Four TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Newcastle, Sale, Townsville & Northam.
Sale: Race 8 @ 4:00pm
Not much early drive. Simply Dreaming and Pharrell can race the handiest. BURLINGTON MISS (6) returned in good order and then second-up had big backing but pulled up with an issue. Is back after 16 days and can win this returning to the grass. SIMPLY DREAMING (2) won this grade at Echuca making sharp improvement. He will push forward and is a winning chance. CORAL ROSE (11) is knocking on the door and can be in the finish again. KAIPAKI (3) is better then the form line suggests. Finds easier and Lane rides. SELECTIONS: With # 6 Burlington Miss if she remains firm in the market. The shorties should winning Races 6 and 7.

Newcastle: Race 7 @ 4:20pm
Not much pace to speak of so jockey tactics will play a big role. SETHLANS (3) was well-supported and did a good job to finish 3rd on debut recently over 1100m at Warwick Farm. Raced handy on that occasion and may have finished closer but for hanging in down the straight. Will learn a lot from that run and the extra furlong is a definite advantage. LIVING ROCKS (12) was scratched from Warwick Farm yesterday to be saved for this. Flashed home to grab 2nd on debut recently over 1100m at Canterbury. Will relish the step up in distance today. OXIDIZATION (6) first up from a spell is not out of the equation. Kicked off last prep with a fast-finishing 3rd at Canterbury over 1250m - that sort of form stacks up well. Expect CORPORAL (1) to also run well first up. SELECTIONS: #3 Sethlans to win.
Northam: Race 6 @ 6:30pm
Citichant can lead from Metro Boy, Smart Fox and Ship Creek. WANNA BE GOOD (3) resumes for the hot Smith yard and is sharp fresh. He’s up to this and Harvey’s booking suggests he’s ready to go. METRO BOY (2) is a capable galloper who is ready to win off the three Belmont placings. He will run along and is sure to go close on the 5-day return. CITICHANT (5) is also quick and draws low. Missed a lip last time at Belmont as favourite, and is also knocking on the door. She’s a live hope with the handy 3kg claim. SMART FOX (4) won the CL1 well and won’t have to improve much to feature. SELECTIONS: #3 Wanna Be Good might surprise here at the each way quote.
