The Lee Freedman trained Ocean Crossing stuck on well behind a smart one last start and appears set to relish the step up in trip on Friday night.
Due to contest the seventh event, Ocean Crossing gets out beyond 1200m for the first time, having finished third behind Bluestone last start.
While clearly no match, his effort was still rock solid and he appears very well placed in the Class 4 event.
Ocean Crossing notably gets the tongue tie on for the first time and has drawn to get a lovely run for new rider Patrick Maloney.
Bluestone is one of the more talented 3YOs in training, so to get within 2.5L of him at his last start, it makes for good reading.
In fine form Maloney is striking at 16% from his last 50 runners and is already a winner when combined with Freedman.
Until they run the trip it is always some query, however given how well he has closed off over 1200m, you'd be surprised if he didn't.
When assessing Timeform weight adjusted ratings Ocean Crossing sits clear on his last start effort and only looks to have to hold that form to be winning.
In five starts, he has placed on three occasions and with his even share of luck, he should prove hard to beat.
The Desmond Koh trained Sun Formation broke through for a deserved maiden win last start when too strong on speed at this course and distance.
Formerly trained by Gerald Ryan in Australia [Old name: Tactical Formation], Sun Formation displayed decent ability and remains open to further improvement in Singapore.
Now he has that win on board, that could give him the confidence to go on with the job.
From the inside draw, he too looks to get a lovely run and is sure to make his presence felt.
The Leslie Khoo trained Super Ray has mixed his form, but is more than capable and notably gets the winkers on for the first time.
While disappointing last start, his effort two back was very good and if able to run up to that level here, he should prove very hard to beat.
Of the rest the Steven Burridge trained Yulong Sheng Long appears the next in line, following his string of third placings.
Good luck and happy punting.
