Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 11.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Port Macquarie, Cranbourne, Ballarat, Sunshine Coast, Townsville & Canberra.
Canberra: Race 8 @ 5:30pm
Coup De Main, I am Kilani and Bart will all race handy and expect a solid tempo. COUP DE MAIN (6) has had two runs for Matt Dale and impressed in both placing at Kembla. He led missing a lip the latest posting a big relative figure. He has the speed to clear the tricky gate and is clearly the one to beat with the big weight drop and the winkers going on. Stablemate SAUSEDGE (8) won the Federal comfortably here three weeks ago and can build on that. Lever gets off to ride the above and that’s a lead. She’s some danger. I AM KALANI (7) recorded a good win here resuming and then led at Canterbury after working and faded out. She has upside and will go much better today. WHO'S KNOCKING (2) needed it resuming and will be much more competitive at the 1400m. SELECTIONS: Looks a nice target for # 6 Coup De Main.

Ballarat: Race 1 @ 1:30pm
Bishop Rock can cross and lead from the middle of the line ahead of Yulong Power. YULONG POWER (12) for the Snowdens worked home fairly without threatening when 4th last time out over 1200m at Kyneton. Bred to appreciate a bit more ground and always like it when this stable pops the blinkers on - might add some spark to his finish. WESTBROOK PARK (10) returned from a 19-week spell with a pleasing 2nd over 1217m at Moe, doing his best work late. Lightly raced gelding who was tested at Listed level at his only other run so Lindsay Park sees something in this gelding. RUSSIAN CAMELOT (8) one to keep an eye on at his debut with Oliver engaged. TRANSVERSALE (14) was disappointing first up but can improve with the shades on today. SELECTIONS: #12 Yulong Power a great each-way bet at better than $5.
Port Macquarie: Race 7 @ 5:10pm
Rapido Chaparro will run the Cup field along at a solid clip. Great field for the rich Port Macquarie Cup. RAPIDO CHAPARRO (5) announced his arrival as a stayer of great potential when he blitzed his rivals over 1900m at Canterbury two runs back. Led and just failed to hang on behind the smart Dr Drill over the same trip at Rosehill last time. Hyeronimus will dictate and he should just break their hearts. MORTON'S FORK (1) found form second up from a spell last time out over 1835m at Eagle Farm, chiming in late to grab 3rd. Group 2 winner when under the Godolphin banner. Has the class to test this field. MONGOLIAN WOLF (2) didn't get the 2300m of the Newcastle Cup last start. Beaten narrowly in the Taree Cup over this trip three runs back - that is a good pointer to his chances today. The veteran CHIVADAHLII (17) is worth an each-way ticket down in the weights. SELECTIONS: Back #5 Rapido Chaparro to win with confidence.
Cranbourne: Race 5 @ 8:00pm
A few can race handy with Quantum Mechanic a possible leader. QUANTUM MECHANIC (9) made a strong debut in town and then just missed behind a good one on resumption from the speed. She will push forward and is the one they have to beat. SUNSET EAGLE (11) has his third run and keeps improving. She can race handy and looks a hope at good odds. SMOKIN' HARD (10) will also be fitter and is an on-pacer suited by the extra trip and could surprise. FORTYFIVEDEGREES (3) had no luck the latest and is capable of quick improvement. DOLCI (2) resumes for Waller and no surprise if the filly goes well. SELECTIONS: Looks the right race for # 9 Quantum Mechanic.
