Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 15.

Three TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Murwillumbah, Newcastle & Kyneton. 

Newcastle: Race 6 @ 4:35pm

Not a huge amount of pace on paper. TERROIR (5) last appeared when 3rd over a mile at this circuit on 8 June. Finished top-three at all three runs during the maiden prep, including a win here on debut over 1200m. Well drawn and two recent trials will have her forward enough to run a big race. CALIFORNIA SALTO (2) is a promising filly returning from an 18-week spell. Closed last prep with a comprehensive maiden win over 1200m at Warwick Farm, closing strongly from midfield on the turn to score with 3 lengths to spare. A couple of recent trials should have her ready to fire. Agree with the market that this is a race in two. TEPARIO (4) failed on a heavy deck last time but is worth another chance on a good track today. FRENCH RESPONSE (7) can fill a hole while fresh.  SELECTIONS: #5 Terroir is the better price of the two chances so go with the value.

 Murwillumbah: Race 3 @ 3:05pm

Takemeoutback to lead in a low-pressure affair. ARCALETTE (1) returned from a 37-week spell with an eye-catcher over 1430m at Grafton, winding up from near the tail to miss by the barest margin. Lightly raced mare who will benefit greatly from that run and over the slightly longer trip will be hard to hold out.  VERDANCY (11) warmed up when the race was all over to get up for 3rd over 1430m at Grafton last time out, a couple of lengths behind Arcalette. Still a maiden after 33 starts but the last two runs have been encouraging. Each-way chance. HAYATE (6) has battled away to finish just behind the placings at both runs since returning from a spell. Fitter now and the extra trip will help. CANE CUTTER (3) did his best work late last start and a peak run looks on the cards today at his third run back.  SELECTIONS: #1 Arcalette will be very hard to stop.

Kyneton: Race 6 @ 4:00pm

Waltonia can lead and they will run along okay. IT'SAYESFROMME (12) will be right on-speed and was last seen placing close-up in an Open 2 at Sandown. Lane sticks from a recent trial and he’s a promising galloper who is sure to take beating. PRETTY BELLA (13) made sharp improvement coming hard to just miss at Geelong. He has more to offer and should go close with the weight drop and Prebble going on. FIRST WATCH (5) missed 1L third-up racing a bit handier and has trialled since. Looks ready for the longer trip and Meech will give him every chance. CALLIGRAPHER (3) will use the rail and will be around the mark peaking back in grade. WALTONIA (11) will be in it for a long way. SELECTIONS: #12 It’sayesfromme can win this and go on.
