Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 17.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Wednesday at Warwick Farm, Caulfield, Doomben, Ascot, Port Lincoln & Launceston.
Kembla Grange: Race 1 @ 1:30pm
The scratching of Navy Cross leaves Laila De Vega to roll along and dictate. LAILA DE VEGA (2) made it three straight 2nds when she led but couldn't hold out the smart Bottega last time out over 1500m at Hawkesbury. Was beaten just a neck in a strong Class 2 over this trip at Hawkesbury two runs back and carries 2kgs less today after the claim. Has the perfect profile to take out a race like this. WAIHEKE (1) drove hard late and just missed over 1650m at Moruya recently. Progressive gelding who might be looking for more ground now but in the small field is a genuine threat. ALL OVER MAGIC (5) is a winning chance back to provincial racing after failing at the Kensington track last time. Go on his effortless maiden win at Hawkesbury two starts back. ILVERMORNY (6) can bounce back with the blinkers on for the first time. SELECTIONS: #2 Laila De Vega to collect a well-earned win.

Moe: Race 7 @ 4:00pm
Masculino may lead the Moe Cup field from Single Handed and Brigadier. SINGLE HANDED (5) made a ratings spike winning the Listed Tokyo City Cup second up in Adelaide. He will race handy and the wet track won't bother. There’s a sense of timing about this fellow and Kah will give him every chance. GUNDOWN (7) is a former Kiwi ready for the longer trip. His NZ form this distance range reads well and he’s a third-up winner. Just needs a good ride from the awkward gate. MASCULINO (4) has had one blip in a string of placings and led beaten 1L the latest in a city Open. His best is good enough and expect him to be a serious player. ANNARBOR (12) races handy and has been outstanding form in easier grade and keeps getting better. She has to be considered with the 4kg weight drop. LUCKY FOR ALL (9) presents third-up and has plenty to give. Draws well and needs including. SELECTIONS: Very competitive with #5 Single Handed appealing each way on the upside.
Northam: Race 3 @ 7:30pm
Trash Panda may lead. POWER AND PASSION (3) did a big job when just beaten resuming at Belmont. He’s much improved and the promising galloper can take this out fitter and drawn perfectly. AL CAPITANO (2) won three back and hasn’t been far away since. He’s a hope briefly freshened. VAGABOND BOY (4) finds easier and gets the rail and Pike for the apprentice. A win would be some feat, but not an impossibility, back 700m in distance. SELECTIONS: Keen on #3 Power And Passion.
