Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 18.
Seven TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Bathurst, Taree, Pakenham, Warrnambool, Ipswich, Kalgoorlie & Murray Bridge.
Bathurst Race 8 @ 5.35pm
Versifier will be stamped urgent from a wide gate and lead from Skipper Joe and Nitro Star. UNIMPEDED (3) has been about the money all prep. Had to do a bit of work in order to race handy then didn't quite hit the line as hoped over 1200m here last start. Blinkers on today, draws a better gate, and Ryan takes the mount so look for a return to her best form. NITRO STAR (2) found the hectic tempo over 1000m not to his liking last time when down the track at Dubbo. Lightly raced gelding looking for this trip now so worth another chance. ALL HOLLYWOOD (12) was facing the starter for just the second time when a dominant maiden winner over 1000m at Dubbo recently. Busted the clock last time, running quicker time than a Class 1 on the same day, so might be pretty smart - worth following. MISSILE MISS (4) caught the eye first up and will strip fitter. SELECTIONS: A few things to like about #3 Unimpeded today.

Taree: Race 1 @ 1:40pm
Plenty of early speed in the big field. MISS VALBONNE (13) extracted from a pocket and drove hard late but just missed on debut over this trip at Port Macquarie back on 1 February. Three trials dating back to late July should have her screwed right down for this return. WATCHTOWER (4) is a seven-year-old on debut - great effort by the stable to get him to the track. Related to some smart types including black-type winner Jolie Blonde. A couple of good recent trials suggest he can run well. BROTHER MAGIC (1) returns after more than a year on the sideline. Showed promise in the maiden campaign with two minor placings from his only two appearances. Could bob up with the blinkers on for his return. PINNACLE POWER (3) has each-way claims resuming. SELECTIONS: #13 Miss Valbonne to prove too smart.
Murray Bridge: Race 7 @ 4:45pm
They will speed along with Oamaru and Domination prominent from the jump. EQUAL LOVE (7) has won 5/8 and only missed a placing once. She gets the advantage of the rail and rates to win fitter for two trials. DEBT COLLECTOR (9) resumes and is also a well-performed galloper who’s up to this at best. Flies fresh Clark just needs a bit of luck pushing forward. GO THE JOURNEY (1) is good fresh and has the figures to make him competitive with the claim at odds. DOMINATION (10) runs along and will be around the mark with a repeat of the first-up effort. SELECTIONS: Looks good stepping-off point for #7 Equal Love.
Pakenham: Race 8 @ 9:30pm
Taygeta can run along and a few can tail. DANCING TYCOON (11) just missed the placings resuming at Moonee Valley after meeting trouble. He has placed 2/2 second-up and has more to offer. The extra trip suits. TAYGETA (8) resumes for the new yard and hasn’t been seen on race day since a heavily-backed Warwick Farm Maiden win 464 days ago. He brings a big trial win and looks ready to go. Fast and is right up to this. EL SICARIO (1) peaks off a 1L defeat this grade and is also a chance with Callow using the low gate. VICTORIA STAR (9) next. SELECTIONS: #11 Dancing Tycoon on the each way. A night when the most likely winners are very well found.
