Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 25.
Eight TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Friday at Scone, Echuca, Moonee Valley, Rockhampton, Sunshine Coast, Gawler, Launceston & Canberra.
Canberra: Race 6 @ 3:55pm
Is That So and Mahjong Rose will come over and both race handy. IS THAT SO (3) missed a lip at Goulburn and then impressed winning the Maiden at Wyong this trip. She will make the speed okay and is clearly the one to beat again. PRINCE CAMELOT (5) was in need of the run resuming at Kembla in a but stronger and will be much better out to the mile. May need one more but rates too well to risk. TRUST THE PROCESS (9) did enough at the mile at his second race-run to suggest he can make the finish with extra improvement. NICOYA (12) has been much better the last two and she could surprise at odds. SELECTIONS: #3 Is That So looks to have an edge.

Echuca Race 2 @ 1:10pm
Not clear cut who leads. ETHICAL SOLUTION (6) wasn’t beaten far on debut in a Group 3 and brings a sharp trial resuming for a new yard. She will manage the gate and be tough to beat on what we’ve seen. MARLUCCIO (10) profiles well and debut and the market needs to be monitored closely. Ditto stablemate AMMA (5) who gets a claim. MISS HAYWORTH (11) is also a watch on debut and FRENCH STAR (8) can make quick improvement for a form yard. SELECTIONS: Open races later in the card and settled on #6 Ethical Solutions in Race 2. The newcomers will need to be good to top her.
Scone: Race 7 @ 5:20pm
Good early speed, particularly from Rambler Rebel and Congregate. POWER RUSH (6) did her best work late and wasn't beaten far when resuming over this trip at Wyong last start. Second up form reads well so with a good run in transit almost assured from gate four she looks the testing material. REDIRECT (9) is a consistent gelding returning from a six-month break in a winnable race. Closed off last prep with a couple of very tough all-the-way wins over longer trips. In the top three at 3/5 attempts when resuming so will be forward enough to play a big role. MAROKAWA (5) made it two wins from his last three outings when he thundered home to just arrive in time in a 1000m Class 3 Highway at Randwick five weeks ago. Races well at Hawkesbury and has the class to test this lot. RAMBLER REBEL (4) disappointed in town last time but his form prior to that was hard to knock. SELECTIONS: #6 Power Rush has been well-supported in early betting and looks ready to win second up.
Sunshine Coast: Race 1 @ 5:45pm
Plenty of these have shown speed. SUGAR BOOM (7) makes her resumption. Talented type. Zoomed across to the lead and was never in doubt at Toowoomba first-up last campaign. She'll lead on her ear in this and her recent trial at Doomben assured us she is ready to fire. OH FIVE GLORY (2) didn't fire last campaign but admittedly was tested at the elite level. Gained some much needed confidence winning a trial ten days ago. Starts on a clean sheet today and demands high respect. SAY HAYA (6) best of the rest. SELECTIONS: Like the chances of Sugar Boom in the opener. Backing with confidence.
Moonee Valley: Race 6 @ 9:00pm
Runson comes over to lead with I Am Someone likely to follow him across. PARSIFAL (5) draws to get an ideal run tracking the leaders. Really good in a fast Testa Rossa and then worked out wide early last time but kept coming to be beaten half a length. Brave effort. Think he finds his race now. WILLIAM THOMAS (6) got too far back at Cranbourne. Looking for 1200m now and should be able to keep in touch and close into the finish against these. I AM SOMEONE (2) will be fitter second up and is much better suited here after tackling the big guns fresh. INN KEEPER (4) is racing well and the best of KEN'S DREAM (3) would stack up. Betting can tell us where he is at. SELECTIONS: Parsifal finds his race.
Launceston: Race 8 @ 10:30pm
Expecting the small field to walk in the last. SURGING STORM (1) broke his maiden last start in a Class 1 over 1880m on the Devonport synthetic, coming wide around the corner and proving a shade too strong. Looks ready for the longer trip at this stage and meets some very ordinary opposition. DUKE'S SISTER (6) whacked away to miss a place behind Surging Storm at Devonport. Dour mare who has only had five starts and might be more effective over this sort of trip. PINKEYES PRIDE (3) led and boxed on well to hold down 2nd place over the mile here recently. Has an appalling strike rate so only for the thrillseekers. The race falls right away after this trio - RUBYRANGER (7) next in line. SELECTIONS: Hard to go past #1 Surging Storm.
