Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on October 29.
Two TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Tuesday at Grafton & Swan Hill.
Grafton: Race 2 @ 1:50pm
Dawn Thunder should be able to cross and lead comfortably. This race has changed complexion dramatically with all the scratchings. DAWN THUNDER (2) led and battled on gamely to hold 2nd over 1010m at Port Macquarie on a heavy deck recently. Consistent mare who will get a soft lead and be tough to peg back as she reaches peak fitness at her third run in from a spell. BELLS APPROACHING (5) had just two runs last prep but didn't come up and was turned out after his latest outing on 22 May. Form the campaign prior to that included a 4.4 lengths defeat by top juvenile Dubious. Winning chance if he found that form. BARKALA (1) stepped up sharply in trip and never got involved from well back in the field over 1250m at Taree recently. Big chance today in this smaller field. First starter HEART OF FIFE (4) is one to watch for betting support. SELECTIONS: #2 Dawn Thunder can lead and get away with this.

Swan Hill: Race 3 @ 2:30pm
Atom Ant can lead from Gingerson and Soweto Haze. POPPY'S ORSE (10) was spelled after a solid debut and brings a sharp trial. Gets the form hoop and expect her to return better and take beating. GINGERSON (7) resumed improved when leading just beaten at Murtoa. The low gate and claim advantage and expect him to go close. SOWETO HAZE (8) runs along and brings a string of placings. Keeps the 3kg claim on a 9-day return and is a strong chance again. MANGALORE LAD (4) debuts and the trials have been encouraging. Draws out, but needs to be kept safe. SELECTIONS: Open contests most of the day. In Race 3, Poppy's Orse showed enough on debut to suggest this is winnable fresh-up for the Coffey linkage.
