3 minute read

The Michael Clements trained Prime Time appears poised to break through at Kranji on Friday night, when due to contest the second event.

Only lightly raced Prime Time has placed in two of his four attempts, which came at last two starts prior to a break.

A game effort behind Sea Dragon two back, Prime Time went on to finish a close second behind the talented Bluestone.

In what appeared quite a strong Novice event, multiple Class 4 winner Ocean Crossing finished third, Siam Mp finished fourth and Hotshots Slam finished seventh, it was a very strong race.

Off the scene for 98 days, Prime Time surprisingly hasn't had a trial in the lead up, but trust in Clements to have him forward enough.

A noted on-speed runner, Prime Time should receive all the favours from the inside draw and looks to have a bit on his rivals.

Will be waiting intently to see what his weight he is, last start he weighed in at 494kg, on debut he weighed in 506kg, so hoping he isn't far off the mark.

Horses do develop and mature over time, meaning they do naturally become heavier, especially only being a 3YO, however still wouldn't want to see him too much heavier, as he may need the run, given he hasn't had the trial.

Nonetheless with even luck and if able to run up to/close to his peak, he is sure to take plenty of beating.

He appears a very nice horse and one to follow this preparation.

The Alvin Tan trained Helushka was no match for Golden Kid in his stable debut, however his performance still held merit and he looms as a major threat.

Only lightly raced, he is only a recent addition to Tan's stable and with further improvement expected, he commands respect.

The stablemate to Prime Time, Resolution appears the next in line, having had the two trials since his last start third.

Given 33 days between runs, he appears well tuned up for this and has to be kept safe.

Of the rest debutant Loving Babe appears the next in line.

Good luck and happy punting.
