Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for major Australian TAB meetings on November 17.
Thoroughbred meetings across Australia are today held at Dubbo, Geelong, Donald, Rockhampton, Albany, Strathalbyn, Canberra and Alice Springs.
CANBERRA: RACE 7 @ 4:45PM
Lolita Gold (8) couldn't have been more impressive getting up to beat Monte Majura here 12 days ago. She peaks now and doubt the grade rise will stop her winning again. SUPREME POLARITY (5) was much better at Wagga second-up in Open grade and has more to give. Draws to advantage and Penza is a key booking on the Olive galloper. ONS VIER (6) has been knocking on the door and gets Lever who's been riding plenty of winners her. Nothing wrong with her figures but she hasn't been able to place at the mile in four goes. SCREAMARR (3) resumed in town and got back off a wide gate. The mile suits him better and the in-form McDougall is booked. He could win this at best, but needs to find it. Expect improvement. SELECTIONS: #8 Lolita Gold can take the next step and win the Federal.

ROCKHAMPTON: RACE 2 @ 2:05PM
Frugal (2) was on speed again missing the hat-trick by a lip here 38 days ago. Keeps getting better and can bounce back with 3x winning rider Wiggins back on. JAY JAY (1) just missed and then won this grade. Gets a low gate and claim and can be right in the finish. SLICK MOVER (6) hasn't won for a while but the two placings suggest he's close. HIDDEN GODDESS (3) also has claims on the effort here two back. SELECTIONS: #2 Frugal looks a good bet on a tough program.
DONALD: RACE 6 @ 3:50PM
Our Bottino may be the one to lead the Cup field. Prince Ziggy (3) races handy and brings a very strong figure from the second-up 84 win at Geelong. Did it comfortably and will take all sorts of beating with the extra fitness. HUSSYBAY (2) won and then didn't miss by too fat at Listed grade in Adelaide. Was just okay as favourite at Gawler after and is not out of this using the rail. THE GREAT ARTISTE (5) was good at Horsham and then had a tough run when outgraded at Flemington. He shouldn't be far away. BUENA VELOZ (6) is going well enough to make the top four. SELECTIONS: A sense of timing about Prince Ziggy.
STRATHALBYN: RACE 7 @ 4:50PM
There are on-pacers across the barriers and they should run along okay. Aiguilette (2) posted two Morphettville wins before experiencing a troubled run at Caulfield when in the market. Followed that with a Morphettville placing in stronger than this and just needs a good ride from Holder to be winning. BORRIS IN OSSORY (1) has the speed to clear the wide gate and followed the Gawler Open win with a 1.9L defeat this grade at the Parks. Expect him to go close. LITTLE AKIE (3) improved sharply winning at the Parks and then found it too tough behind Borris the latest. The Veteran has won 4/6 at this venue and can go better. BOLT I AM (5) missed the hat-trick this grade in town but peaks now and shouldn't be far away. SELECTIONS: Expecting #2 Aiguilette to prove too good.
