Racing and Sports highlight our standout plays for Australian TAB meetings on December 12.
Six TAB meetings are held across Australia on this Thursday at Ballina, Queanbeyan, Wyong, Echuca, Mackay & Pinjarra.
Wyong Race 4 @ 3.40pm
A real charge for the early lead, with Buckin' Beauty, Diamond Thunder and Discharged the chief protagonists. DIAMOND THUNDER (5) is the class runner in the field following the scratching of Exhilarates. Has not raced since winning the Listed Brian Crowley in style over this trip at Randwick seven weeks ago. The winner of three from four at this distance and will be very hard to stop again. THINK FREE (3) is first up since winning her fifth race in ten starts over 1400m at Warwick Farm back in July. Goes well when fresh and two recent trials will have her ready to run boldly. DISCHARGED (7) led all the way to win with a bit in hand first up over this distance at Canterbury recently. Meets a smarter field this time but will give a sight. HIGHTAIL (4) resumes. Was runner-up in Listed company over this trip at Moonee Valley first up last prep. Not to be taken lightly. SELECTIONS: The class of #5 Diamond Thunder to prevail.

Echuca Race 7 @ 4:30pm
Fast And Furious can lead from Ghost Doctor. GEORGIA'S HOST (8) made a solid return and then improved sharply when just nudged out in a 70 after racing deep. Is ready to win and the 3kg claim remains handy. ANYTHING BUT (4) resumes and has raced in better grade. Can be presented more forward this time around the betting will tell. HEIR OF TAVISTOCK (6) deserved the Bendigo win and then disappointed at Cranbourne over a middle distance. Has had 60 days to freshen and is worth keeping an eye on. GHOST DOCTOR (5) keeps racing well and won't be far away with the 3kg claim. SELECTIONS: #8 Georgia's Host to knock off the favourite.
Ballina: Race 5 @ 4:35pm
Painted Wolf and Big Buddie to battle for early honours. PAINTED WOLF (6) is a lightly raced four-year-old who has had a let-up since finishing a close 3rd over 1206m at Grafton five weeks ago. The form out of that race has been franked a few times. The wide draw is his only negative but he should push forward and find a spot. The one to beat from the in-form Edmonds stable. TRUE PRIDE (2) scored a big win over 1000m at Grafton two runs back then might have been looking for a step up in trip last time when midfield over the same journey at this circuit. Has failed at or around today's trip a few times but looks ready for another tilt. SCILAGO (1) is a knockout chance first up from a 40-day let-up. Form before the break over longer trips was hard to fault. Well in after the claim. GIVEMEAMINUTE (7) has definite claims over a more suitable journey this time. SELECTIONS: #6 Painted Wolf to win.
Pinjarra: Race 7 @ 9:30pm
Not clear-cut the lead. Maybe Candijay drawn lower does the job. CANDIJAY (6) impressed just missing from the speed on debut and then has support at Bunbury and things didn’t work out. Draws to advantage and she gets the chance to break through. BRAVE CONTENDER (2) didn’t miss by far second up and will be better for it. In a top yard and is sure to be fancied. DESIGNER PRINCE (1) resumes and will race over further. He’s suited with the 3kg claim and no surprise if he’s more forward this time around. ROO (5) has more to offer second-up. SELECTIONS: #6 Candijay shows promise and betting each way against the favourite.
